I just see white :/

(1/2) > >>

DM Macabre:
Tried everything to my knowledge. At least I think that my laptop should be able to show textures. But in game I just see white instead of a lot of textures. I see not all VFX I see not all placeables - or I see them white - I see many areas in white and also many creatures.

My laptop is a Fujitsu Siemens and my graphic card is supposed to be a

SIS 672 - Mirage 3+
Softwareversion 5.05
file-version 7.14

Any ideas, how to fix that?

failed.bard:
Generally the white textures and missing placeables is a sign not all of the Haks got loaded into memory.  If it's a laptop with shared memory for the graphics card, see if you can set more memory allotment for it, or for caching.  That may be enough.

DM Macabre:
How much do you suggest?

failed.bard:
If you can find where it is, probably best to try either 64 or 128 meg increments.  You don't want to take too much away from the main ram either.

Khuzadrepa:
Is this a first install on this pc? Was it already installed, working fine before and stopped? If so, did you do any recent changes to your pc?

Have you tried setting your game to video compatibility mode? It will downgrade trying to view .dds textures down to .tga textures which are easier for the card to translate.
If it is already in compatibility mode, you may need .tga textures for the custom content included in the CEP and Ravenloft haks.  That will be more difficult to address.

Something else to try is increasing the cache for your game (not just video cache.)
You can up the amount by changing the nwnplayer.ini setting under [Game Options] and adding "Max Memory Usage=64" (the game's default is 16MB, so you could set it to 32MB, or a usable max of 64.)
You should do this change anyway if you have the spare memory to run it, since it will improve your game experience.
