Area - Midway Haven - Traveling Merchant

With the alchemy thing set up at Midway, a way to sell stuff to get money for alchemy supplies would be nice. Considering Midway is in the middle of nowhere. A traveling merchant could be in there. With a not so great buy/sell prices, but still willing to buy stuff. Maybe have a handful of basic traveling supplies for sale, too.

Warning: Don't provoke the high-level Falkovnian wizard. He bites. (And not in the good way.)

As some one who carries money in the form of gems and other items rather than using the bank I'd love to see such an idea implemented, it would be very useful.


I could just run into the room and punch you in the balls; sure, that's scary. That's entertainment. But it isn't horror...

I think part of the charm of Midway is that being in the middle of nowhere. Rich people can use by the way the ferry to reach Vallaki. BUT! A travelling merchant might be an idea of an NPC used by a DM occasionally to make things more alive in there... not a "Murnu-like" NPC who simply stands there, buys and sells everything... but a proper "live" NPC which DMs might use... meh just a silly idea...

The thing is... The alchemy thing is there. As far as I know, it's currently the only one. Some characters, like Jinx and Werner, don't carry gold on them very often. And certain others can't feasibly use the ferry for various reasons. It's kind of annoying to have to run all the way to Vallaki or Barovia to sell a few gems/rings/scrolls for gold then run all the way back to Midway to attempt the alchemy store.

Doesn't have to be a Murnu. Maybe even script it so there's a pool of merchants that rotate depending on whatever variable. Each with their own stores. Maybe even each with their own placements at Midway.

suppose there could be somekind of merchant since there is tavern activity aswell. Travelers need someone to buy supplies to continue journey after resting (even though no one really needs to buy such but still...)

here's an idea... make three seperate "Travelling merchants" each with different types of shops, or different wares... but have only 1 spawn in randomly each time, so you never know which one you might find.
