Item: Falkovian Gauntlents: Suggestion
« on: April 08, 2009, 01:55:04 PM »
These are great gauntlents with +2 will save and 12 SR. Although the description seems a bit ill fitting of the bonuses (act like a spiked gauntlet? So heavy it makes spells difficult to cast?) I have been told that's because recently these have been changed.

I think however that the 12 SR should be replaced with an antagonize bonus (+2?) to match the rest of the falkovian gear, so it should look like

+2 Will, +2 antagonize.

(it could also potentially have +1d4 piercing damage, +20% (?) arcane spell failure/ - 2 to open locks to match the description?)

If they are heavy, I'd go as far as to give them -1 AB.

All the falkovnian gear is heavy.  Damn cape weighs more then some armor.  However, I prefer the by the book versions of the gear not more modifications to make my fighters even less effective then what they are now.

Actually I managed to get a hold of the old  Falkovnian Talon Gauntlents and I would call them a non-arcane's best gauntlents in the game.
(actually I'm an arcane caster and still use them, I find them that good)

THey are:

+2 will
12 SR
+3 discipline
+1d4 piercing damage
25% vulnerability cold and electricity
-3 open locks disarm traps
+50% arcane spell failure.
Weight: 6 (for bracers this is a lot!).

These match the description of the new gauntlents 100% but for some reason have a description concerning morninglordians? Oversight/bug?

My only suggestion was and remains if they should have an antagonize bonus instead of SR.
