@stop
« on: March 13, 2009, 04:17:18 PM »
Would be possible to implement a command line like @stop?
Sometimes I [crouches] and my character will stay there, that's good, but most times when I want to stand up again, I try to click on him, and he just stays there, then I have to step foward or backward then he will stand, then go back briefly to crounch, then finale he stands up in a natural way.

So, it's possible to implement something to make the characters go back to their default standing instances?

This happens with all emotions that you have to manually cancel, doesn't happen everytime, but most the time does.

[stands] has always worked for me, but I suppose in situations where you don't want the text appearing it might be useful.

  This would be a command they would have to watch really carefully how they scripted it due to its ability to be abused.  Since the @ commands don't show up in the chat window, a person could have it hot-keyed and use it to get un-KD'd if it wasn't implimented to check their state first.

Can emotes function like when the character sits on a chair? Like it's shown on your screen (top left), all you have to do in order to get up is to click there, then he'll stand up. Think this "mechanism" would work well with emotes?

And.. [stands] doesn't work here most the times...

Bad_Bud and I were actually bickering about which was the better and smoother way to end a persistent emote animation.  He favors the "Detect mode - click on character" method, while I favor the "Rest menu - Escape" method.

Either one is more seamless than taking a step backward, at least.  I leave it to you guys to decide which method is better overall, though.   8)
