Suggestion - flavors of barovia
« on: December 30, 2008, 11:29:44 PM »
Always been a bit disappointed that the food items sold at all the inns are so... flavorless. Uncooked fish and chunks of meat and hard bread for a high amount of money.

After browsing the gazetteer i found a few ideas to replace those with some barovian delicacy

Sarmale : pork wrapped in cabbage leaves

Tocana : stewed pork

Mititei : Grilled pork and lamb meatballs

Patricieni : grilled sausage

Placinte : fruit pastry

Sarmale.....mhmm....Gibrana used to cook that up for the rebels and guests at the Gaping Wound back in the day.

It would be a nice touch having native food dishes.

Whoa, hold up.  The Gaping Wound was actually open for business once?

It's a nice offer, but we currently don't accept content made by non developers, refer to the item request thread.

Nice finds.

Maybe I'll have those introduced by the guards in the outskirts.

Those would be likely fair at inns such as:

Lady's resting place.
Constantin's fishing Lodge
Broken Bell
Angler's dive
Blood of the Vine

(Tigan's dosnt have a kitchen, its barley ale and barley ale)

Blue Water inn would have more refine meals i suppose, probably like braised ribs, steamed fish and vegetables, rotisserie chicken/duck not so much game meat because it used to be considered less fine. Nobles used to eat swans which is pretty gross in the end :P

You know what else the Angler's Dive needs?  A sign at the door saying "Here's the Angler's Dive, so you can stop running around clicking on doors now."   :P

Also, shouldn't Dvergeheim's tavern serve a few dishes as well?  Surely those hard-working miner dwarfs have to spend their lunch breaks somewhere....

They can eat viking food. Quickly, someone research nordic delicacies!

Does Lutafisk count?

You get a message that you hear dishes cling and people talk when you walk in front of it. Angler's dive was a beta testing area for a group of players, had their own little den in there. It's been recycled since but it would be nice to make it into something ^^

Nobody should ever eat lutfisk.  It's not a delicacy.  It tastes like paper that you've dipped in molten paper.  The potatoes that you serve it with is the high point, really.
Blacken and sin, accept and be swept

Lutafisk?  I thought that Vikings ate raw pain and drank blood from the skulls of their enemies.

No, that diet would require Goth kids to actually kick ass.  Which they don't.  :P
