Idea - Variable Day/Night Cycles
« on: December 01, 2008, 06:25:07 PM »
Up here in Canada, daylight shortens drastically. I was walkin' home, and an idea struck me!

I think it would add a lot to the fear of night, and will to be inside, if the hours of dusk and dawn corresponded to the season.
Right now, I get the feeling everyone scrolls over the IG clock, and says,
"Ah, it's about halfway through hour 17, I should futilely suggest that everyone go inside."

This concept, I think, would add another layer of suspense, because nightfall can come at different time any day.

Summer will become less scary and dark,
But winter will be made into an isolated snowscape where nightmares born from dark gods will rule! :D

Unfortunately i think day/night transitions are hardcoded.
