Creatures - Baratak Spiders/Ghakis Near the Peak
« on: November 29, 2008, 06:27:06 PM »
Two issues...

Bug 1:

I've been checking the Baratak spiders, and this may be a result of overfarming, but I've never seen it above minimum spawn. Could just be bad timing or what have you. The Only Gold bug remains

Bug 2:

The area right before the Ghakis Peak does not seem to give XP for the ghosts you kill. It just -doesn't.-

Cheers!

The "Only Gold" bug remains for the Ghakis spiders, too, unless it's been changed in the last 2 days.

Same with the Baratak spiders, only gold....but a nice bonus there as you can get 10-12k on max spawn

uhh would you expect them to drag heavy armors, swords or scrolls there? gold is a good idea and I have no problems with it. The problem would be if maximum spawn would give 1gp per cocoon ;) Of course if those cocoons are to represent their dinners then sure thing that items could be there. after all once a spider injects its poison into a victim it envelops it in the cocoon as a whole and then slurps from it from time to time. Items would remain in the cocoon in such situation.

Exactly, but armours etc would be left behind if they were to be capturing unwary travelers/adventurers.
Even the odd random animal horn or such would be a nice touch.

Well i doubt that they would care to strip a guy off heavy armor, but they would simply feast on the guy in the place where they've slain him. They wouldn'd drag the armor clad corpse to their caves. Weapons and shields would be left behind as well. I guess some jewels and jewlery, maybe scrolls and pieces of clothing (clothes, gloves, boots, hoods or maybe even helmets) could be dragged together with the victim. But nothing too heavy, as in nothing heavier than a light armor.

For folks viewing pleasure.......Since the topic is about treasure and what Spiders would or would not leave.  Yes, I realize the Camel Spider isn't really a Spider but then neither is a Tarantula.

Now, a LOT of these are very disturbing, So if you are squeamish  DO NOT WATCH THEM.  Even though they pass You Tube censorship rules, they are STILL DISTURBING.  NOTHING (though a snake is close) is more disturbing then a feeding spider.

They do however, demonstrate how the spiders of giant proportions eat.  Now, as can be seen, sometimes they coccoon, sometimes they don't; but if we are talking about Treasure being left behind, then logically, one could expect to find a bunch of dessicated Animal husks, or dessicated Adventurers.

I've always sort of favored the Later actually, and the treasure being representative of that of fallen PC's.  Basically you die there, the Spiders get all your stuff as a Treasure spawn.

Even if they were to leave behind standard gear, well, that standard gear is still sellable.  Beats finding piles of coins everywhere.  Or Cleric/Paladin Scrolls.  Now, back to work.  Reminds me I need to feed the pet Scorpion.  They're just as gruesome.
