To go missing from the village of Barovia is not an uncommon occurrence, though for a guard to disappear without even the slightest trace is certainly something of note, something that shakes what little sense of safety exists in the villagers. The guard Mihai has vanished, leaving no note or sign in his absence. Old Noapte, many fancy, has taken him to visit his family.

The grave of Mihai's son goes unattended in the coming weeks, where once it was visited daily by the man. The flowers die and the once-clean stone is no longer kept washed; obscured by moss and dirt, just another name forgotten, disappearing to the mists like that of his father.

A number of small, lovingly tended stations have sprung up in the Village of Barovia. The cooking pots are filled with simple warm stews and flanked by lit candles and written prayers to the Morninglord, praising hope and endurance. An acolyte of the god makes her rounds between the stations, often keeping a careful eye out for any troublemakers.

The acolyte also spends much time in the outskirts after a recent wolf attack, helping build barricades and spending time watching for more attacks.

Earlier in the day a shrouded man in brown with earthy smells and feathers adorning his garb is seen leaving the village. He leaves word for those with a connection with the land gather at a nearby grove.

"What is now whispers were lovers cries; or so the villagers say. Where two lives crossed and broke apart. Who now to whisper sweet nothings to, who now to stand by your side, what of the cold bed they leave behind. Oh, love lost."

In the dark hours of night only a short walk from the gate, there was roaring, fire and pain. Hushed whispers now speak of a demon, and two lovers torn apart.

Three figures, not far from the Village, shrouded under the guise of night, chant in guttural tones - ushering something pitch black. They step within, and vanishing into the damming darkness. Before long, they return with a feline companion, dispersing soon after. The remnants of a fire leave a strange scent about the area, a mound of dirt where grass once lay seemed burnt over from the intensity of whatever flame once resided there.

A frail figure clad in outlandish, monochrome robes arrives at the Village of Barovia. He is often seen writing or receiving letters at the Blood o' the Vine tavern, but seems to have few words for the locals.

A single Lamordian woman is occasionally seen coming and going from the village. Grabbing simple food supplies before leaving about whatever business she may have.

By Lysaga Hill there was a rather terrifying sight  of monstrous creatures heading there as a tremor disturbed the vicinity where witches and warlocks are known to gather. A great tremor was heard as something happened there.
