Official ruling on the passage of time

(1/5) > >>

Bluebomber4evr:
After a lengthy discussion amongst both DMs and Developers, we have come to a decision regarding how much time has passed. While the day/night cycle as well as seasons are rather rapid, we decided it would still be easier for plot progression and NPC/PC development to keep time flowing at the rate of the real world.

In other words, for every year in real life that passes, one year has passed in the game world.

Thus, three years have passed in total since we have opened up the server, both in real years AND game years.

Bump

This is not a suggestion, this is an official ruling. Only 3 years have passed in game since we started running the server.

Please keep this in mind when creating your character's backstory.

[Bump]

This is a reminder on the passage of time.

Effectively, what a 1:1 ratio means, for instance if you choose to Roleplay pregnancy and giving birth; expect the 1:1 to apply, given that the child wont go from 1 year old to ten in one month or a game year.

One of the reasons to the installment of the rule was to prevent the quick growing up of children player characters.

Bluebomber4evr:
Annual bump :bump:

This is a reminder of the official rule: It has been roughly 4 and a half years since we began the campaign, so only this much time has passed in-game.

DM Macabre:
Just a follow up:

The current year is 764 BC (Barovian Calendar) <-- 2009

in January it will be 765 BC <-- 2010
