Morninglord Church Graveyard/Outskirts - Redesign
« on: August 10, 2008, 02:31:49 AM »
Hey, I really like the way the graveyard has been redone, especially giving access to it without having to go through the church proper. However, now that it is so easily entered, can we get a door on the side entrance of the church? No reason to leave such an easy entrance for the critters that go bump in the night.

Hmm? No door there? You mean the sideentrance from the interior to the exterior, right?

I'll look at it...

and on the side is an open doorway blocked by rubble, but theres no connecting doorway in the interior. Anyway that could be walled up or a plot locked door stuck there? Seems silly they couldn't move some rubble...

That should have been changed now... :)

Yah Ethinos means the old entry/exit to the graveyard is an open portal in.  The old pile of rubble on the opposite side (western facing) is cleaned up as well the door is now replaced with wall.

I like the new exterior look, definitely opened it up more for free access for monsters and others.  The only issue is with the side entrance which would allow easy access for nasty invisible nogooders to waltz in unawares.  The only other thing is I can't play with the torches anymore. :( *crying on the inside.. no not really*

And now Viorica and the rest of the werewolf-hunting archers can't blithely stand up on the ridge and shoot the werewolves with impunity (at least until a DM jumps them up there) anymore, because the ridge no longer exists.  Our watch point/sniper point is kaputt!  So sad.  :(

But the new graveyard does look "cleaner," I'll admit.  Could we get some iron gates in the wall's gateways?  That would help keep out the riffraff further.  Including werewolves.  :)

Iron gateways that the Morninglordian Faction has KEYS for, to keep out the graverobbers, sounds good.

If there are gates, I would really prefer they were bashable or lockpickable than specific key only. The cementary hill shouldn't be such a safe spot. The church iteself is. Bashable, unlockable gates would give people a temporary reprive, while at the same time give werebeasts a chance to be able to get those snipers when a DM isn't on to port them up "scaling the hill".

I really liked the old one with the wall and fortress feeling to it to defend the dead. But this aint bad either.

Honestly, the old church and wall felt more like it was designed to keep the dead IN.

Come to think of it, why is it that the dead in the catacombs rise as undead but the dead in the cemetery don't?  It's the same patch of earth; you would think there would be at least a zombie or two roaming around outside....  :?
