I dunno. WIth the implementation of Dementlieu, I think we have a better chance of seeing the faction in game.

There are other organizations far better for a mages guild- and the Fraternity of Shadows are based in DARKON not Dementileu.

But they do have organization bases in Dementlieu.

Make an Illusionist wizard that meets the standards and see what happens. Whatever, you can walk around wishing at every turn something will occur and it might or not.

I've decided to make the character after reading all about the fraternity in the undead sea scrolls version two from www.fraternityofshadows.com.  If anyone is interested in making companion characters to go along you need to be either a LE or NE sorcerer or wizard to be accepted if I read right, and apparently they're from many different domains too.

i would assume that all evil is accepted. how would anyone really know what evil you are.

vali is really evil but he acts as harmless noble person. same thing could work for fraternity members. surely eventually those that are chaotic would reveal their trueself to other members

I'm usually on after 8pm eastern time weeknights, and any time before late night when I go out on the weekends.  The undead sea scrolls version 2 from the fraternity of shadows website, really has a lot of information on the class and the organization, and since it's so organized and particular I reccomend making a new character geared towards that.

We've currently 3 PC's made for the fraternity of shadows.  Is there any DM's who would be interested in helping us get a start if we can come up with some small plot ideas?

we've started playing our characters and something I was curious about was to start out with, how much would they know about the dark powers and mists lore wise.  An initiate brother in the fraternity is given the basic knowledge of mind magic and of the worlds nature, so the undead sea scrolls say.  So what does this translate to IC

An initiate would understand things a learned wizard or a scholar might- each domain seems to operate under different laws of physics and is subtly different, the mists infact mark the borders of these lands and are the ultimate influence and control on th world. They would also understand the mists are still constantly changing and reshaping the world. They might understand there is a subtle consciousness behind these mists.

No one knows about the DP's except a handfull of Darklords who've been here hundreds of years and are intimate of them, and even they do not know much of them except that there is some force there that torments them.

since there's no official faction, we've begun playing as brother initiates already, fresh in the fraternity

As Initiates, you'd know very very little about much of anything. The Fraternity is a very secretive organization. And it's the kind of organization that'd kill members who caused a ruckus, so be mindful of that.

No, you've been told a few times that the Fraternity of Shadows is not a supported faction, as such there won't be private forums or uniforms.

For those interesting in gaining some dev or dm support for a new faction, the best course is to first dedicate some of your own time and initiative.  I think with the Ezrites, we played for a few months without being an officially supported faction.  We used pms to communicate important ooc or ic information as well.

If players can demonstrate to the rest of the community, that this faction would be an assett to the setting, and something worth while for the dev's to give their time to, then you'd be in a position to advocate for a forum space for the faction, and dev support.  Players reps could then advocate on your behalf, as we've done in the past.

First things first basically.  Like the saying, "If you build it, they will come."  It takes time and patience to build up a faction, until it has a life of its own, beyond that of the individual.
