A new face has appeared in Degannwy, which might set some on edge.  A Kagonesti woman from the land of Sithicus.  She appears to keep to herself at the back of the camp, and sleeps in different parts of the camp every night.  Any half-kin or humans who  encounter receive a less than icy reception.

With increasing frequency, a highborn Elf (judging by his accent, dialect and mannerisms) of Evermeet has been seen in the woods in and around Degannwy. As he took to wearing leaf and vine as often as cloth or steel, he seems to have become noted for a few physical 'deformities' that point to a lack of purity in his blood. Beyond that he can often be found mixing with the various Tel'Quessir that walk under the boughs of the giant trees there, or competing with the rangers in tests of sword/marksmanship, or playing music with a lute or violin.

A half-human (who insists that the word is quite inaccurate) has been seen walking around Degannwy, studying and taking notes and asking people questions - all related to the history of the camp and its inhabitants. The half-elf will talk the ear off anyone willing to listen, but he always knows when to excuse himself when his curiosity causes irritation.

[With so many hunting for food, the fey-folk of Degannwy notice a sharp decrease in the number of fauna in and around the Southern Forest. Given winter is approaching fast, some animals may be hibernating... but others should be out in much greater number. Could it be that in the struggle to feed the city, the bounty of the forest is being threatened?]

With the wildlife dwindling, the young wild elf newcomer has been providing dried meats when possible to the elves of Degannwy,
telling them to use it as they please.  However, any requests for her to send them to the human settlements herself are met with a cold shoulder.

[A mood of somber sadness overtakes many of the elves living and resting in Degannwy. Rumor has it that a servant of the Count riding a horse came to Degannwy, asking for the whereabouts of Legos Slyvester. When the elves responded with ignorance, several were put to the sword, their corpses hung outside of Degannwy. They were taken down, and in a stoic manner, the elves cleaned up and buried their dead... but this would not be the end of their troubles. After being forced to renew her oaths of fealty to the Count, the Marquessa of Autumn guided others through a stone door hidden in the cliffs surrounding the grove. A few hours later, they fled, running outside, and darkness consumed Degannwy. This darkness was lifted after only a few minutes, to reveal more dead kinsmen and even some of the gossamer folk slain...

Those who still count themselves among the living say a powerful ghost was awakened through the reforging and restoration of some priceless elven relics, a ghost so powerful that Yggdrasil could not keep it from visiting its torment on the Seelie Court, and others living in Degannwy.]

A man sleeps against the great tree to the left of the entrance often for days on end, he does not respond to any form of awakening. His temperature seems rather high, and every hour on the hour he grumbles out some ashy sounding word. Wearing a woolen robe, thick fur boots and a skinned werewolf pelt he seems prepared for all but the worst of winter. Strange human.. hibernating among sleepless fey.

Visitors to the little community of fey find a small, petite elf with an unusual mask coming and going, as if on some mysterious errand.  The elf is seen carrying and preparing large amounts of sundries.  Likewise, some food rations and covers are placed next to the sleeping man found near the great tree by the entrance.

((In accordance with this, the death of a few elves at the hands of the Count never took place, because Legos was never wanted by the Count. The vengeful ghost still showed up.))

Whispers traveled throughout the protected glade of a ceremony to be held. Not long later after arrangements were set along the back, a young elven bride approached, dressed in a silken gown of white and blue, a long flowing cloak of silk trailing behind her. It was decorated with embroidered leaves along the skirt, ruffles along the collar, and fingerless gloves to show the silver ring with the star sapphire setting upon her finger. Her hair was set in a wide triple braid, decorated with small amaryllis blossoms and babys breath buds. Small wisps of hair curled and fell about her face in thin tendrils. The Groom stood tall, in a white and black suit made of equally fine silk, his golden mane falling loosely about his handsome face.

The ceremony was beautiful, with colorful displays of the elements and concluded with fireworks, feasting and jovial conversation before the pair retired for the night. The night brought high spirits to many, a night that was sorely needed with the dark days that shadowed the lands.

[The usually jovial moon elf, Daewyn Orle'valsa, retreats into one of the rooms at Nant Gaerwyn, her expression pointing to bearing a heavy heart. She can sometimes be heard to play dirges on her violin.]

Some say that several elves and half elves've been quite unhappy to find a certain demonspawn spending time in Degannwy. It's rumoured that some confrontations even came down to threats of violence.

Something dark stalks the forest and cliffs surrounding the sylvan glade. An elven scout was three days late returning from patrol, not so usual until the ranger was found at the edge of the  Degannwy bridge, his neck snapped and his life fluids drained. A group of visitors seemed panicked despite the Marquessa's calm assurance that the sacred wards protecting the faerie realm can not be breeched.

A red haired and heavily scarred halfling smelling faintly of alcohol has taken to sporadically sleeping outside in Deganwy, never sleeping long or soundly. Some of the elves there might find her familiar from previous stays. It would appear she camps outside only when she can no longer put of sleep, and so as not to bother anyone when she cries out in her sleep.

[An elf-maid of the Teu'Tel'Quessir, Daewyn Orle'valsa, remains at the Autumn Grove. Within Nant Gaerwyn, closing the door to the Barovian winter's chill, she goes slowly about her days, perhaps moreso than the rest of her long-living kin. It is clear to those who might visit that she is recovering from some unspoken ordeal-- her thin frame and hooded eyes are the most telling signs.]

A matronly Moon Elf has recently arrived at Degannwy, clad in silver and white.
She spends most of her time resting, or stargazing where the brook rushes out into the River Luna.
The woman keeps to herself, but when one inquires as to her purpose, she replies that she is searching for Y'landrothiel.
Some mention seeing strange shapes reflecting on the water's surface where the moonlight strikes it...

[ In the early morning not far from the outskirts of Degannwy a young woman could be seen carrying the body of a young girl to a spot before spending hours digging and breaking up through the frozen crust refusing to stop until the grave was dug, the child was lowered into the grave and placing something small along with the body inside the grave before refilling it and making a marker. The woman spent many hours at the grave crying and praying softly before she picked up her shovel and left the grave as dusk was just beginning to arrive]

[Elves and frequent visitors of Degannwy pass word to each other that the scout named Cento has been crafting a variety of bows and ammunition for the village.  Asking only for reasonable donations to cover his costs, he has armed several rangers with top quality weaponry and steel-tipped alchemical arrows.]

Time has passed and the days have darkened, but once more the call goes out.  Letters sent pleading for the presence of souls who knew him.  After hoping against hope that some trace might be found, hope turns to regret, and the final memorial of Sir Cyrus Gallant is once more attempted, in the place that was his home.  In Degannwy, those who knew him will speak on the man and gather together to remember his passing, and the gulf left behind in his absence.

A strange man with ash-colored skin has taken permanent residence in Degannwy. During daylight hours, he withdraws to one of the upstairs chambers, where he covers the windows with cloth and douses the lanterns, throwing the room into complete darkness. After the sun sets, he departs for the woods, and is not seen again until the small hours.
When addressed, he is found to be cordial and mild-mannered, and speaks with a foreign accent that possesses musical undertones, much like the elven language.

Is the presence of this pale creature that shuns the light a cause for concern?
