Vallaki - Nobles' District - Refuge of the Fifth Light
« on: March 13, 2008, 01:59:16 AM »
In the past forenight a man reconized by a few nobles and later ezra priests named Bolson was seen taking the battered and dead body of Warden Nell into the catherdrel he was then seen paying a hefty fee for her treatment and healing. Through ezra's grace she was returned to life and after having her wounds tended for by both the priests and the tracker Bolson she slipped into a peaceful slumber. After making sure she was covered in warm clothes Bolson was seen leaving the Catherdrel for the Blue Water Inn.

On mass day as the bells ring the call to the Church, at the pew can be seen sitting a beautiful young girl, her skin dark and black hair giving her a vistani look but by her accent is quickly dismissed as a Mordentoise. She sings the hymns with a voice that rise above all else in talent and perhaps even faith from all appearances. She wears a simple white dress with hints of green, her hair held together with a green kerchief in a Barovian style. Once mass is over she returns to the Broken Bell where she lives and works, murmurs some that have seen her previously. Quiet but mesmerizing, she is talked about quite a bit by men and women alike.

Scealed invitations with Smaller Print than those seen throughout the city about the coming of Andre Bellamont are sent on behalf of Armand LeBarthe to all members of the church,

*Warden Callois reads the note carefully, folds it neatly, tucks it away in the folds of her robe and heads towards the west*

Late at night in the past day or so, a figured cloaked in dark black cloths face covered and voice masked delivered personally to the Toret a bag sealed tightly inside a locked box. A simple phrase was whispered to him. "..tell me when your ready.." The figure  then left quietly into the night.

The toret reading the letter inside the box would follow

Inform when your ready to dispose of this filth to the four corners of the core.

F.C

Inside the box were four stone bricks blessed and carved with runes against evil.

Also inside was a letter to Nell.

We need to speak about this and a few other matters at your convince.

F.C.

*shortly before dawn a night ago the man known to many as Bolson a tracker of ezra was seen being brought into the cathderal by a small group cloaked in the shadows and dark clothes. When asked what happened one man explained that Bolson was attacked, but his attacker was dealt with, though Bolson was determined to be in a deep sleep. Though treated and eventually awoken many hours later from rest those that had brought him in had left, wishing that he got well soon. During this time of his rest after being treated an elven woman dressed in simple forest like clothes was seen coming in with much concern. She was seen tending to him in her own way, and when asked by the Toret was told to him she was his wife. After awakening a bit later, the two left, Bolson tired, beaten and weak but needing rest and time to think, or so he said to the Toret*

*During the night a heard of Oxen moves into the nobles district. The nobles, in complete fear of the beasts, have decided to stay indoors until the area is cleaned*

Yesterday afternoon a man clad in green was seen to enter the cathedral.  After he left, a nude body was found discarded at the alter.  The body has been identified as Sister Sonja Divac of Barovia.  She was obviously slain by decapitation, though some care was taken to try and restitch the head to the torso.  Her face bares the expression of extreme sadness and/or grief.

Calson on duty at the time in the Cathderal when the body was brought in tries to get teh description of the green man before taking the fallen form of Sonja and with the Torets aid carefully tends to her body for later burial.

He then looks at the Toret, "I'm going to figure out wha happened..." he says and without waiting for further reply dashes off to find the green man

Warden Nell Ward is said by the Toret to have departed just the night before with a companion, and has not yet returned to recieve the grave news but is expected back at the Cathedral within the week.

Several nobles speak as they head into the safety of the Blue Water about Warden Callois making her way with several bags smelling of fungi towards the Cathedral.

Those who were leaving the cathedral speak of her ashen face as she blessed a pile of equipment on the floor and of her dragging it inside, while confering with the Toret in hushed whispers.

An impressive force gathered around the Temple, led by a High ranking officer, the guards were silent about the motives of the presence, some speak having seen the officer leave with one of the Priestess dressed in green towards the Citadel.

A tired anchorite is seen coming at the brink of dawn to the Cathedral. She's seen kneeling and speaking to the Toret about losing a heart.

As nobles discuss the latest trends with the coming of spring, as well as the stench of all the outlanders becoming unbearable with the raising tempertures, a gruff private heads toward the Church of Ezra, cursing his luck. He is seen walking inside the church, his muddied boots staining the marble.

Kept watch over by the Toret, the elf called Virgil takes up residence in the Ezrite chapel. When he sleeps, he tosses and turns, and he seldom, if ever, speaks.

*From within the Cathedral several worried prayers rise and fall throughout the stormy night. Locals who look out the window see Temple Guard Tasha and Warden Ward leaving the temple distraught. The Toret and his anchorites appear haggard and worried.*

*As the bell peels for the last service of the day, an empty cathedral is all that greets the two anchorites as they celebrate a conmemorative mass and remind the nonpresent faithful that they're seeking fungi for the coming harsh winter cold.*

Zeklos Boyar Guards were seen escorting the Chapel Anchorite from the Zeklos Keep to the Cathedral, where the funeral for the Invidian war veteran Sonja Divac, took place.

Various rumors have taken shape since the funeral.  Some assert that a Boyar Guard was seen stumbling fearfully from the Cathedral, a light airy mists billowing out with him while he was overheard cursing the "Ezrite witches."  While others assert that a miracle had taken place within the Cathedral, and that a sense of tranquility and calm was pervassive as the Chapel Anchorite was escorted back to Zeklos Keep.  What was noticed by some was that unlike most funeral services, while the Boyar Guards were seen carrying the coffin into the Cathedral, no coffin was seen ever exiting the Cathedral.

It is rumored that visiting Toret Inquisitor Arthur Rowley has invited all the clergy and laymen to a Dinner at the Blue Water Inn.  Toret Inquistor Rowley's previous Fifth Day sermon has been a common topic as of late within the Cathedral.

Rumors of Rebels once again troubling Vallaki reach the Cathedral, as it seems many Anchorites and Laymen frequent the Broken Bell, the latest bloody scene of rebellion.

Some recall the day when the Gundarakite Rebels blew up the barraks just south of the Cathedral.  Anchorite Nell Ward had with divine strength carried from the smouldering rubble a barely living Vallaki Guard, his skin severely burned, moments away from his last breath, before the prayers of the Toret restored the man, saving his life.

Word spreads that Templar Daeros Amanar miraculously reappeared one dark and early morning in the Cathedral after having been missing for at least a month.
