Four young children were brought to the orphanage last night by the Ezrites Marcus Hulford and Caterina di Morello, a lady named Iara and a dwarf known only as "Uncle". The do-gooders brought in their charges safely, who are now being looked after by the orphanage's caretakers; the orphanage was also able to afford larger than usual orders of food that same week, suggesting some substantial donations as well..

[Each night, just before bedtime, soft whimsical music is heard from upstairs adjoined with the light voice of a woman singing lullabies to the children within the orphanage. Come morning, cookies are left out for the children to enjoy before being let out to play]

Young children were found wandering away from the orphanage and playing at dusk. They were safely brought back by a dwarf and two women who then proceeded to take advantage of the matron's generous hospitality. Since then one of the foreign interlopers has been annoying people in the outskirts asking for donations to help support the orphanage.

The orphanage grounds are decorated with new flowers, despite it being late in the season for planting. The building itself seems to have gotten some repairs and cleaning, and the children can be seen happily playing with new toys and showing off new clothing.

Rumors spread of a few outlander benefactors donating to support the place, though most locals follow the rumor with suspicion over what kinds of questionable actions got them the money to donate and whether their outlander influences will corrupt these impressionable children.

Picked him up for her own,
Pressed her body to his body,
Laughed; and plunging down
Forgot in cruel happiness

A foreigner recently met with the Baroness of the orphanage and a large donation was made. The stranger took no credit, stating that it was all thanks to the community. Much-needed upkeep has been made to the property both within and to the grounds. The children also have new toys to play with and plenty to eat.

When she can hunt her down, there's a large Waterdhavian woman that wanders with Anne, acting as a guard when possible. She introduces herself with a grin as "Daci", and tends to be clad in steel full plate.

Newly born rumors spread that two Ezrites, a horned helmed and a blond one, walked into the orphanage and introduced themselves as "Warden Edward Hyde" and "Templar Initiate Heris". The Ezrites in question donated a huge sum of 14,000 wolf-fangs to the orphanage!

Anxious words at the orphanage speak about witches kidnapping a orphan during the night and turning one of the cooks to stone.

A peg-legged Vos man has been visiting upon the establishment every other day during the last month, always bringing a swaddled infant with him. He seems to be quite shy about interacting with the children, though after he leaves, a new wooden figurine or a nice pair of caulk boots, perfect for climbing trees with, mysteriously appears among the possessions of the orphans.
He spends a great deal of time upstairs in the nursery, talking to the babes in their painted cradles.

Also visiting the Orphanage every weekend, Mother Kaliara of the Morninglord Church can be seen willfully playing with the children, often dirtying her simple smock and robes to sit in the dirt with the kids, or speaking affectionately with the caretakers as she offers assurances of support and messages of goodwill.

A member of the Crows -or once-member- is seen making a visit to the orphanage; she spends some time playing with the children and their dolls, and laughter rings out for at least one afternoon around the building which has seen so many ordeals. A little brightness is brought to a group of children who would otherwise, no doubt, be destined for misery.

Rani, one of the girls, is filled with fright the coming day, however, and loudly proclaims to all her friends, as if by rote: "we shouldn't sneak out at night, even if we really want to, and we see stuff we like and meet nice people."

As of late there have been more visitors to the Orphanage, people taking turn with helping out around the grounds and watching over the children. If one were to search, there would be a single cot set up in the kitchen that looks recently slept in and more people in nondescript clothing wandering the roads.

During the week, a man clad in black robes with a Morninglord symbol is seen at the Orphanage. Often running with the children and playing the various games they ask him to. He has been seen dropping off various things. Large bundles of winter cloaks, toys, and medical supplies for the harsh Barovian Winter.

The children of the orphanage receive a surprise at their doorstep: a mixed assortment of Tremblay Family candy, donated by a quiet, portly woman in a blue commoner's dress.

A young woman in black clothing has been seen visiting the orphans from time to time. Occasionally, she brings cookies or other forms of sweets, but never stays long.

In the early hours of the morning, a group of four can be seen outside the orphanage. Two take up positions facing the road, standing watch. The other two kneel before the doors and windows, sprinkling holy water, stringing up garlic, sketching with chalk, and praying fervently as the snow falls around them.

One familiar with the local community would recognize one of the praying men as dressed in the blue and white of the Halans. The other wears the white tabard and red cross of the Christian Templars.

They finish just before dawn. Three of the men walk off toward the city, while the fourth jogs eastward. He returns within the hour and begins stringing up more garlic, sprinkling more holy water, and reciting more prayers.

As he finishes, he pats one of the children on the head, offers a kind smile, and says, "Walk in the Light."

In the hours just before nightfall, a black-haired half-elf in white garb bearing the sigil of a crucifix carries a large satchel into the orphanage. He emerges some time later and pauses alongside the hills that ring the building. He stoops, striking a candle and nestling it in a small alcove among the hills near the road before kneeling beside it.

As the oranges and grays of dusk shoot across the sky, he rises, draws his cloak about him, and returns to the city.

A Gundarakite man all covered in burn-scars has been a frequent visitor to the orphanage lately. He mostly sits and watches the children play, speaking to them on occasion regarding their interests.
Sometimes, he staggers outside in the throes of a panic attack, gasping for air and wearing tears in his eyes. No one seems to have any idea what might have triggered these incidents.
It is not an ending, but an ebbing.

A Barovian girl with peasantly clothes is seen frequenting the Orphanage, with books and the like carried under one arm. She's rather unassuming, save for a kind smile towards the children, and striking russet hair. Reading for the children, it seems.

Two morninglordians are said to have visited the orphanage this afternoon with baskets full of meats, cheese and turnips. The duo also spent sometime speaking with some of the children there before departing off and leaving the donation of food for the winter to come.

It is said a barovian man in a blue cloak and bandana arrived to the orphanage. Silently he set crates filled with toys and meat for them. The man spoke but a few wordd to the caretakers and merely said.

"For the future of our children of Vallaki."

With a smile the man departed and seem to head to the local woods. Some saying the man hunting and working hard alone. It seems he would be working till old noapte came.

It is said the man in the blue cape known as Valentin Krezkov brought a heavy crate of food supplies, winter clothing, and toys for the children of the orphanage yesterday. He stayed recounting tales ofnold customs and barovian folk tales. He especially told tales of the famous Garda who defend their city. When noapte came the man left while the children were sleeping. Conversation could be heard beyond the front door before silence.

As the night rolls in, a simple yet elegant wooden memorial emerges just outside the orphanage. Its details are as follows:
Quote
An elegantly crafted wooden cross stands resolute within the embrace of the earth. Graceful floral motifs adorn its edges, tracing a delicate pattern. At its heart rests the emblem of the Rosy Dawn, the Morninglord. Beneath this symbol, the following words are inscribed in the language of Balok:

"From death, life. There is always another morning. In the dawn, beauty reigns and the way is clearer

May the innocence lost on this solemn day find solace in the comfort of Your Enfolding Embrace. May they discover illumination within Your Unending Dawn.

Never forgotten.

May Thy Lips Be Cleansed!"

A wonderful play was presented to the children and guests of the orphanage. The sound of laughter and merriment echoed well into the evening.
