The Tournament Trifecta
To one and all! This coming November 15th a grand tournament sponsored by the Craghammers, the Bulwark Vanguard, and the House of d'Orsine, will be held in the fields east of the fishing lodge and north of Loch Zarovich near Vallaki.
The tournament will be between teams of three which will consist of two warriors and one warder with magic. There will be a lower tier and a higher tier. The lower tier will be between amateurs, and the higher tier will be between experts in their fields.
The prize for first place in the higher tier will be 50,000 fangs. The prize for first place i nthe lower tier will be 25,000 fangs. Second place in both tiers will be given consolation prizes consisting of magical items.
The rules of the tournament are:
No use of time manipulating magics.
No one but the warder may use magic
No use of polymorphing or shapeshifting magics
No use of offensive magics, only defensive or warding
Dispelling of magic is allowed
The warder may only start casting magic when the fight begins
No use of potions or magical effects from items
We ask that all teams try to be at the tournament for registration an hour before the tournament begins, which will just after sunset. There is no registration fee. Leave a letter for the Craghammers at the Trading Vardo with any questions. We are also asking for volunteering healers to be present, for there will be injuries.

There is no entry fee for the tournament. The lower tier will be from level 2 to 10, while the higher tier will be level 11 to 20. If three people from multiple tiers wish to join together, they may, but they will be put into the higher tier. For example, if a level thirteen wizard wanted to ward two level ten fighters, they would be in the higher tier.

Perhaps active use of magic in a public location in Barovia, whose time and location could easily make it to the ears of local authorities or other agents of the count, is not the best place to hold such a tournament?
