I don't know how easy or hard it is to add an MPC template, but I think I've some ideas for templates that could be added and would ultimately bring a lot in terms of RP to the server.
Revenant
These undead come about out of a desire for revenge upon those who wronged it, more often than not seeking those who ultimately brought about their death in the first place. They are singularly-focused, desiring only to deliver vengeance on their hated foe. Then, and only then, can the revenant be granted the eternal rest it seeks.
Ravenloft Example: Ratik Ubel, of Il-Aluk (http://www.fraternityofshadows.com/wiki/Ratik_Ubel)
Possible Traits:
Undead Immunities
STR + 4, DEX + 4
Skeleton Immunity to Piercing/Slashing
Cold Immunity
Divine Vulnerability
Green Hag
Transformed into a horrific monster through a curse of some kind, hags scheme and plot to bring ruin and destruction to all who oppose them. Particularly skilled in dark magic of all kinds and able to disguise their disgusting form, they are opponents to be feared.
Ravenloft Example: Glennis McFadden, Healer of Viaki (http://www.fraternityofshadows.com/wiki/Glennis_McFadden)
Possible Traits:
- Metamagic feats granted for free if not known (Empower Spell, Extend Spell)
- Polymorph self into Hag (meaning green hags would function as lycanthropes do now, with their appearance before serving as their 'disguise')
- Hag form yields grants Spell Resistance, Regeneration 3/round
- Weakness Touch Attack (Cha-based Fort save, 2d6 STR damage upon failure)
Half-Golem
Created by mad scientists and doctors willing to go to insane lengths to save a patient, these cursed aberrations are the result. Often cursed to retain an empathic link with their manufacturer, their existence is a parody that drives most men and women cursed with such a fate to the brink of madness itself.
Ravenloft Example: Desmond LaRouche, of Nova Vaasa (http://voltor.narod.ru/vr/rlm2_004.htm)
Possible Traits:
Spell Immunity: Level 4 and Lower OR Spell Resistance 22
Immunity: Critical Hits
Immunity: Sneak Attacks

Not asking for a werebat. Can you please link to the thread being cited?
-
I always wondered why revenants weren't added in the first place, since they would make good AMPCs/MPCs.

The thread initially was to discuss Werebat, but strayed into MPC ideas in general.
-
Werebats would be okay.
No PC liches (too epic), no half-golems (too complicated for the NWN engine), no PC ghosts (too powerful and too complicated for the NWN engine), and no PC hags (too powerful)
-
I only see mention made by Blue that hags (EDIT: and half-golems, missed that) would be a power issue, and that's fine. Additionally, EO is still here and working on stuff (he's responsible for the Avenue du Progrés and partly the Grand Opera National), and he more or less designed many of the MPCs templates that are present already.
Broken Ones would be another good potential MPC/AMPC template to implement, and would certainly give people who wanted to play an aberration of some kind something to work with. Ideas are numerous: poor sailor who washed ashore onto Markovia and got transformed, perhaps? Or perhaps one of Elketh's experiments, escaped?
Edit: Would any construct like flesh golem be possible? Really we could do with some sort of Created monsters, I think, being playable MPCs, even if half-golem is too complicated.

But by all means man, I'd love to see more templates. Especially something that isn't Undead / Lycan. The trick is finding something that will get implemented.

Information related to Broken Ones, for those interested.

They really would.
-
Greater Skeletons are staple horror. Some type of skeleton MPC should be added, in my opinion.
-
I would love to see Dread Golems as an AMPC template.
-
I think the fact that AMPCS are created monsters off the bat give a lot of opportunity for templates that might have been previously ignored. Revenants would be a welcome addition & I would still like to see some form of "young hag" since they are considered too powerfull.
-
Well the RP of a Revenant style undead could easily be done by a Wight, and the Target tracking power would be very powerfull anyway. And might result in a very boring MPC if that target isnt around at that time
-
Ampc's are perfect for a test phase for certain implementions it does nor real harm as its temporary very temporary and it gets a good feel if it works or not.
-
I would love to see Dread Golems as an AMPC template.
These would be fun to make! Not sure about playing one though.
-
Should also use existing MPC types but put twists on them. Use a mummy for a Revenant for example. Also every thought about the power of a mummies curse?

Undead and lycanthropes aren't enough? Geeze, you guys are so jaded.

They laugh at Lycanthropes, man! They're beyond jaded.

Variety is the spice of life. We're just making the curry hotter if we can ^.-

Dread golems are an interesting idea, though they tend to have some really incredible powers, if I recall correctly. So it might be a bit too powerful in comparison to everything else.
We could implement vixens/werefoxes, maybe. Additionally, you're right when you say that liches are far too powerful (able to scry through pretty much any skull ever may be SOMEWHAT overkill), but what about vassaliches? I remember the criticism against vassaliches at the time was that there weren't enough liches to hand that sort of power out, but I know of at least one lich who has been involved in recent events throughout the Core who might be willing to give some power in exchange for undying loyalty...

Vassaliches would be awesome indeed.
