Title: Massive Apes
Post by: Purist on January 28, 2013, 12:29:13 AM
Just saw a bunch of "gorilla" like, labeled carnivorous apes, all around the balinoks near Dvergeheim. Is it intentional?
Seems odd to have apes in such wet and rocky terrain.

Stupid ox is stupid. Damnit. The ox auto-hostile has to end!

And... Holy Apes, Batman!

Are these things related to the the item "barrel of monkeys" or something?
I lost my ox which had a few lbs of crap on it. I'll need a DM to fix this, since the PC became encumbered.

You've been visited by Doom Lady, it seems. This is indeed caused by some tom foolery using the "Barrel of Monkeys".

This could be awesome. Some crazy highwayman who uses an army of carnivorous apes to rob people.

They'll be a lot less problematic once the people who have them run out of charges. The fixed version only summons a max of 4 and there's only a 1% chance of finding one, so they won't be easily replaced.

...your definition of awesome on a Gothic Horror RP server kind of worries me a little bit sometimes.

Perhaps an evil hedge mage who lays in ambush with a school of monstrous catfish is a good follow up?

There's no need to be snarky or mean-spirited.

Also, the Kettle of Fish no longer summons monstrous catfish.

It was ment as a mere joking comment, no need to be assumptious.
BahamutZ3RO is probably one of the people I've played with most on this server. Despite his silly definition of awesome.

When discussing an item called barrel of monkeys that is even mistaken for a bug, it's kind of asking for the thread to be derailed by silly replies.

the barrel of monkeys have been a forum punching bag for weeks. if it entertains yourselves to bash the idea of it then by all means have at it, I just think its best to just respect the effort to add a colourful and rare item and accept that its most imbalanced aspects have been resolved. some of yous are sarcastic to the point of obnoxious, lets ease off the easy target eh.

I love the barrel of monkeys and I have been an outspoken defendant of it.
