Title: Accidentally downgraded graphics and stuff
Post by: Telkar on December 19, 2012, 11:15:24 AM
First off, I'm in Linux. So, I was starting nwn, and I think I accidentally started it two times, though not sure if that was the case, and the screen froze with the nwn startup screen. I had to restart the computer. Then I started the game again and got to the startup screen, but the chosen resolution and everything were wrong, akin to a freshly installed nwn. I changed the resolution and logged in to my account, but didn't get any servers listed and the potm server was not in my history. Then I tried logging in some module to test things, and the graphics are very bad, but the game runs fine.

I do remember when I was installing the game, the graphics were like that at first, then I had to do something to change it to the better. I don't remember what though. I've looked in my nwn directory and checked the date of recent changes to the files, and the only ones changed at the date of the error seem to be the nwn.ini (nwnplayer.ini possibly).

Anyone got a clue what to do? Are there settings in the nwn.ini that need to be made, or what?

Ok, got it fixed. Found another nwn.ini file elsewhere and used it. Difference seems to have been having the "texturepack=2".

We should probably sticky Linux issues in the tech stuff. Everytime something comes up during re-install  I have to remind myself of the solution.
