Title: Timing out from server.
Post by: DM Samedi on December 14, 2012, 09:22:23 PM
A friend of mine has been trying to connect to the server for the past billion years and refuses to post on the forums whenever I tell him to. But within ten minutes of logging on he times out from the server and drops out.
How does he fix?

Tried having him do a direct connect vs connecting through Gamespy and everything?

Is there a way to skip the gamespy servers and directly log into PoTm ? And i don't talk about direct connect through Gamespy. Or skipping broken password check Gamespy, but way to directly click on NWN and log into PoTM.

Nevermind found the way to do direct connection but still cannot log in getting timeout message.

+connect 84.238.55.137:5121

make sure your IP script is correct, no typos or old IPs

Well this sucks i don't know what the problem i cannot log, even with direct  connect, i just get cannot connect to server and timeout

I use +connect 84.238.55.137:5121
on my NWN short cut. But i still cannot log into the game.

Is there another IP Address that iam not aware ?

Found this about they taken NWN offline

Maybe it's your router? Have you tried resetting it and making sure it's not blocking NWN?

Had that problem tonight as well, not sure what's causing it as everything worked fine for several hours before. This happened both via direct connect and connecting via Gamespy (or what remains of it).

Edit: It seems to be related to the number of people on the server in my case (somewhere between 40 and 45 people online causes the disconnect for me as far as I can tell when logging in via Gamespy).

Well he made it to about quarter of an hour and it's still happening.
I'm just going to say the serve hates Canadians.

Did he get his keys from GOG? Unfortunately with so many keygens available, its possible one of his keys is one of the many generated.
That happened to me when I had a secondhand copy.

So it was a router problem.
The guy got a new one and was able to do things for as long as he wanted.
