FPS hangs from 92.1 in intense areas/encounters to 130+. Currently using a GTX 660 Ti, Win7 (x64), 16 GB DDR 3 RAM.
It is just hanging every second or so. To the point where it'll hang for 0.5 second, to even a second while I'm in combat. Drivers are up to date, and have even gone through -all- the drivers, changed 3d settings, etc. It runs the same no matter what settings I have it on in-game and was having the same issues while running NWShader with CQs overrides.
Any fixes?
EDIT2: Running with a tower-shield on and off increases/decreases it a little. Checked out the FPS when it hung, goes from 90 FPS in a GFX intense area, down to 1.9 FPS for a majority of the fight. :/

Updated, more info.

I have similar issues all the time, likely just because the game is rather outdated and doesn't deal with everything too efficiently.
Or your newer computer doesn't deal with the old game as efficiently, either way.. it comes down to the same thing.
I think I've tried lowering my settings to the lowest before, but that seemed to make little difference. NWShader doesn't even seem to properly work for me.

You can try some of these things:

The one thing I've found with nVidia is that fog effects tend to wreck your fps. Mist camp is brutal for me. Nothing I've found, setting-wise, that can relieve that yet.

Gone through all of those already, no changes at all.
-
Do you have a multicore CPU?
-
That I do.
i5-3570K (3.4ghz, four cores).
-
Did you set your CPU affinity to 1 in your nwn.ini file? http://www.nwnravenloft.com/forum/index.php?topic=10560.0
-
Yeah, I've done that. Been through all the variations of NWPlayer.ini tweaks, and grahpics card setting tweeks. :/
Combat makes me feel like I'm running this game on a Commodore 64.
-
BUMP. Still suffering this, it's rediculous, more than 3 players in the one area and my computer = pathetic.
-
I actualy had get a older graphics driver for mine to prevent the stuttering only with forcing a fps limit. You may want try some other drivers
-
I've been considering trying to get an older desktop going just to play smoothly. <_<

Some things you can try:
some low fps issues are fixed by fixing the affinity stuff in nwnplayer.ini to -2 (which allows all cores to be used via load balancing)
You can also try the following wraparounds/debuggers to help with your particular video card
