Quick googling always helps, this (http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=other.Detail&id=931) will likely explain it. Writing </c> in the chat does a little bit of purpleness, tho I don't know the color formatting that well.

But please don't use colored text.

...but...but...what if my character has split personality and I want to make the evil personality speak in a red text to indicate different tone?  :P

Wait. Does that mean your visible text changes color? Or just what you see in your own chatbox? If its the former, heck no. That'll be as annoying as typing in all caps. If its the latter, have at it.

It's the former, but don't worry. It's rarely ever used. I for one wouldn't bother much copy pasting those brackets to type into much.

Seconded. Its almost selfish to want your text to stand out from others- Like speaking in all capitals.

Of course it is. But I once had party chat in red to indicate it was not a normal "say command" and I believe it is only on my screen if I fiddle around in ini files about it :)

Google is evil Tzaeru!  But thanks anyway ^^
