Fujitsu Siemens
Intel Core 2 Duo , 2Ghz
2 GB RAM
32 Bit Vista ... <--- I will probably change that to either Win XP or Win 7
-
nVidia GTX260 896Mb GDDR3
I'm having this installed on my new computer. No idea if it's any good though ...
-
For gaming, Nvidia 270 or higher or the Radion 4870 or higher. Personally i like the Nvidia over Radion. Couple more gigs of Ram is a good idea too.

What's the exact info on the motherboard? You'll see like a code probably on the motherboard manual like "D1826-G" or something.

Don't buy ATI if you want it good for Nwn. :nonono:

Yah Radions just plain suck!

Well crap. The dell I ordered has a 256MB ATI mobility radeon HD4330 graphics card.
The alternative was a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, which is a piece of garbage and does next to nothing.
Am I looking at a problem here? Should I send it back?
-
Radeons don't suck. They sometimes have slight compatibilities issues with few games, such as NWN. I have a Radeon HD3850, the only issue I had once was invisible characters and certain textures like in game mirrors weren't showing. But all got solved when I adjusted my Catalyst AI.
-
Do the newer radeons handle shiny water properly? I had to turn that off in NWN due to issues with the card.
-
The newer nvidia cards aren't super with old engines such as nwn either so don't just bash ati :p

I don't know. My computer is 5 years old, DDR 400, single core, all I know is that shiny water Lags me good. Can't tell if it is a CPU bottleneck, but the VGA is very good.

Mine has that exact same graphics card. Dell doesn't give many options, and mine runs totally fine even on the higher graphics settings for nwn.

For NWN and older games you shouldn't have any problems. But for new games, you will be lucky to get 15 fps on lowest graphic settings. Really depends on what your needs are and budget.
