We are pleased to introduce a new role within the community, the Player Assistant (PA). These are members of the community entrusted with tools to help fellow players with minor administrative tasks in-game. The goal is to alleviate the administrative workload of Dungeon Masters (DMs) and Community Councilors (CCs), and to speed up our response time for such requests.
This role comes with fewer restrictions than those of DMs, but does come with some responsibilities and requirements applicants must be aware of:
You must be willing and able to commit a couple of hours a week to address player issues.
You agree to follow and uphold the PotM rules.
You must treat all players and PotM staff equally and with respect at all times.
You agree to perform tasks without favoritism for the benefit of the entire community, and never for your own gain.
You must properly log and document any action taken as a player assistant.
You agree to the confidentiality of player requests.
Failure to abide by those rules will lead to a warning (subject to severity of the violation), followed by revocation of the role if no improvement is seen.
Any misuse or exploiting of the tools will lead to a warning on the disciplinary track, potential revocation of the role, or even an indefinite ban from the server depending on the severity of the action.
The list of tasks the PAs may be called to perform currently includes:
- spawning low value items (5gp and less),
- renaming & editing item descriptions,
- applying subraces & prestige classes,
- completing character remakes,
- resetting passwords,
- fixing language issues.
To properly assume this role, potential applicants must minimally meet the following criteria:
- Nonconfrontational, patient and willing to help others.
- Reliable and willing to dedicate part of your play time to helping others out.
- Having played here for at least three consecutive months.
- No major track record of offenses.
- No disciplinary measures in the last 6 months.
