What appeared to be a drow or more probable a regular human was able to walk into Vallaki shortly after sunrise, with punctured bite marks on her neck, causing a local guardsman to flee in terror after briefly confronting them.

The raven-haired girl who regularly cleans the old lodge in the Slums moves with observably less spring in her step, come morning. She airs the linens and sweeps, but every now and again pauses a moment to hold her hand to her forehead.

Once, she comes out of the lodge with her arms full of various empty liquor bottles. She winces as if in pain when they clatter into the trash barrel.

She closes the lodge door slowly behind her as she retreats inside and does not stir for the rest of the day.

My windows cracked, but they can be replaced.

Rumors circulate of a guard abduction sometime in the last week.  Hushed whispers of a fight between a lone guard and several dark clad people beating him to the ground and dragging him off.

"Rebels Rise!"  was scrawled in blood on the wall where the scene took place.

The early hours of dawn were witness to an unusual scene of violence in front of the Gaping Wound. Accosted by a trio of green-clad men and a well-garbed male in finery, the sun-kissed proprietor of the establishment, brandishing an axe, was subdued by a heavily armored pair after what seemed to be an argument of sorts. One among the men promptly tied down the motionless form of the axe-wielder, with the five making steady departure from the slums.

A familiar looking Borcan Red Vardo Captain was seen walking about the slums of Vallaki. He put a sign that said 'Closed for repairs' on the Gaping Wound's door.

... Other accounts include the Captain of the Iron Sons, Teodor, proceeding to berate the two guards while he was hauled off to the citadel.  The guards practiced restraint, simply suggesting him to not make further comments along the way.

Clad entirely in black, hooded, drenched and stinking of filth; a man is seen staggering through the slums district from the East. He approaches the guard house and lets himself in. He is not seen exiting for some time.

The slums are abuzz as rumors circulate amongst the downtrodden and weary that dwell there.  The traveling priest of the Morning Lord calling himself Friar Sand, held an impromptu pig roast that he claimed was in celebration of the Holy Day of the Daylight Savior.  The food was fine, and the halls of the simple Sanctuary of the Eternal Dawn were warm with brotherhood.  As many as five Outlanders stayed until the wee hours of the morning, feasting, singing, and playing at games.

The Friar did however, give an unsettling sermon about the dangers of the Mist and those who would worship them, accusing the Mists of having an insidious purpose in bringing Outlanders to the realm of Barovia, and condemning those that would worship them, saying that they had much good in their hearts, and had done much for the people of Barovia, but are misguided in their worship.  He went on to say that the clergy should forgive them, love them, and try to save them.

The devout of the Morninglord were confused by this message, as the church has always been tolerant and welcoming of all other religions.  Others who heard of the event, but do not share their faith have been heard whispering:  "Good, let the sun cultists and the Dilisnyan poisoners kill each other, and we'll be the better off for it."

Loud, amphibious croaking and the shattering of glass joined the routine sounds of a Barovian night near the Wayfarer Kinship Lodge. Immediately the Lodge door was flung open, and light from it brightened the city streets as a group of  adventurers emerged and fought their way through a pestilent fog and enormous frog-like creatures toward a sewer grate. There they waded deeper into the murky and disgusting water, disappearing from sight.

[An influx of ailing peasantry filed into the Sanctuary of the Coming Dawn and Sanctuary of the Eternal Dawn with the rising of the dawn’s light.  Their morbid, hollow coughs echoing into the air as they hobbled and shuffled across the cobblestone streets.  Their shambling frames were accompanied by the stench of disease and the majority of those that came in contact gave a wide berth ‘lest they contract the affliction.

With the coming of the morning on the subsequent day, weary figures emerged from the sanctums of both temples, drenched in sweat, but complexion noticeably improved.  A healthy flush to their visages and restored vigor in their steps.  A buzz of gratitude echoed in small circles through the downtrodden littering the slums and districts of the Grey City -  a conglomerate of the cult of the Morninglord and outlander-laden Wayfarer Kinship being credited with the culling of the most recent outbreak.

Chimneys belched streams of smoke into the air from a multitude of domiciles…cauldrons filled to the brim with water put to boil in many hearths]

Rumors of posters being put up in the most deprived and ruined parts of the Vallaki slums district, something about the grip of winter, and making offerings to Auril.

Early in the morning, several warmly dressed figures are seen distributing the leftovers of what seems to be quite the feast to the poor and downtrodden in the slums of Vallaki.  Everything from mutton, steak, chicken, fresh cheeses, and local fare like mitten and toucan are distributed, along with more unusual dishes -- cooked snails and some weird black fishy smelling stuff, to mixed reception by the locals.  The bottles of fancy wine and cheap ale are gladly taken, all around, however.

Those giving food to the poor seem to be a mix of those wearing Wayfarer Kinship amulets and what appear to be some familiar faces within the Cult of the Morninglord.  When asked, the feast appears to have been for some Outlander holiday.

A sickly man was seen staggering his way through the slums until he made it to the derelict hospice. He was scarcely able to make his way inside and has not re-emerged since.

Warmth comes from the Derelict Hospice, and soothing smells of medicines. Food and medicines are brought in, free for the taking, people are whispering...The tall red haired man who could only be Lexington seems to have brought in fresh wood, and began cleaning up the place. A "Free Food" sign has been hung on the door knob.

In the afternoon, a young Gundarakite girl is seen stumbling almost drunkenly down the cobblestoned streets- leaving a trail of blood in her wake. She is holding her left arm- which appears to have had a large chunk taken out of it, the bone of revealed. She makes it to Tigan's rest, and collapses in the street, before being carried away by a large Vos man.

The Hospice in the Vallaki Slums seems to be open, with healers manning their stations, food, clothing, warm blankets, and a heraldry of welcome to the sick, lost,
 and new.

A large group of men, and one female pitic, entered the sewers through a grate in the Slum District. A reduced, filthier and bloodier group re-emerged over an hour later, carrying the bodies of their comrades. Whatever they were hoping to do.. it seems they were unsuccessful.

A man in battered armor was seen staggering his way about the streets of the slums, bleeding from a score of mild to serious cuts. He'd lurched his way about the district in a daze, both hands clamped firmly over his right eye socket, until finally shouldering his way into the Sanctuary of the Eternal Dawn and disappearing within.
