I would suggest to check weapon specialization feat also.  Seems this bug and the one I've reported about wf are related. Some may want to create bard/fighter.

This is the message given when attempting to level and take improved critical, with one of the bard weapons.

It doesn't allow you to take the level.

Can you try redownloading the hak? This was updated after the last test version. If you didn’t update today, you’d get this message.

I'd already downloaded the most recent one, but I downloaded it a second time, and extracted it into the folder, yet I'm still getting the same error. This is a different error than I got with the first build of the release HAK from a few days ago. Before, it wasn't showing in the Improved Critical menu at all. Now, it lets me select and take it, then rejects it, saying I don't meet the prerequisites.

Alright, I went in to test and you're right, it is buggy at the moment. We'll look into it.
