Can't modify longswords through the crafting menu

There seems to be a bug when trying to modify longswords through the crafting menu. It does not let you change the top and middle parts of the blade.

Another player confirmed having the same issue. It's seems limited to longswords (so far), it worked fine for all other weapons tested (warhammer, dwarven waraxe, handaxe, trident, light hammer, greatsword. scimitar, halberd).

Not sure if it's because the weapon is somewhat rare, but my scimitar (Vigil) cannot be modified. Doesn't state it cannot be changed.

Three days ago I modified no less than four Longswords. What kind is it?

Edit: Confirmed. Both player crafted swords and loot table swords are not craftable.
