Crafting bug help
« on: August 11, 2016, 07:57:39 AM »
Hello,

I'm a new player, so there might be something obvious I'm doing wrong.

I bought a Chain Shirt armor from Matatius Balcescu in the Market District.  It has Base AC of 4.  But after I finished crafting the look of it, it became base armor class 0.  I don't get any AC when I put it on.

I tried logging out and back in, and no DM was on to help.

What did I do wrong here?  Can I get my armor replaced?

Did you buy the actual armour or the template? It sounds like you bought the template for the armour which is just the template. you can wear it to allow you to change it's looks before you craft the item. All templates give 0 armour when worn.

So it isn't a bug as long as you're wearing the Template.

Ah, that happened to me once actaully. Suddenly the crafted chain shirt as the same properties as piecemeal clothes, right? Zero armour class, zero skill fail penalty and one pound of weight.

Yes!  I went back to the store, and I did indeed buy the real armor.  In the shop it's  armor class 4, but after crafting it's zero.

Is it possible there's somehow a torso option that shouldn't be available for the chain shirt armor? Try changing to a different one and see if it changes the armor's property back to AC 4.

My idea too. Can you take screenshots of the torso before changing it? Might help with fixing the bug

Drat, I ended up selling it since it was so heavy.  I'll buy another set and see if I can duplicate it.

If you do can you check the nr of the torso option? That is probably even better than the screenshot

Yep, it's exactly as you suspected, its the torso option.  It seems to be number 5.

Here was it before:

And the option that does it:

And the stats after crafting:

Aborting crafting returned it to the full armor properties, and oddly made me unable to find option 5 in the torso again.  Thanks for the help!

Yeah, the base AC value of a piece of clothing is dependent on the torso model. I'm guessing once you put it into the clothing category, you couldn't craft it back out?

Yeah, I just had to help someone with this. It seems stuck in once it's switched over.
