This is not an override
per se.
It does function like one, but has a modified rladdons.hak to allow it to overwrite all assets that are unique to PotM, and all the original NWN assets and marry to two to form a singular look.
This is an alternative gui/icon set specifically tailored for PotM 2.0 and later. It provides custom icons for all original NWN content and PotM's custom feats such as Lightning Rage, and all custom spells, such as Withering Palm and attempts to make them all feel like they were designed together. Another goal of this project was to make the gameplay easier, especially as it pertains to the status/condition icons so that you can tell if you are dazed, diseased, level drained, hastened, strength increased, dexterity increased et al. These icons are all based on the spell effects that they represent and will make sense to anyone who is using them all together and covers PotM's custom statuses as well. The feats for the metamagic feats and their spellbook radials correspond to each other now for ease of play as well. And since these sort of icon packs usually only provide the spellbook icons for spells but no scrolls I made my own scroll pack for all the spells too, that share the same icon.
The base icon set should at least be partially familiar to anyone that has ever used the NWN2 icons that were once available, but while the old one that was on NWNVault for a long time was just spells, this one is
everything and I exported/converted them all myself to achieve the best quality/consistency that I could. All radial icons, all status/condition icons, all feats, all spells, all skills, all class features, all classes, all cleric domains and anything else that could be made uniform was modified. I attempted to ensure everything had an accurate representative icon. I have been working on this (instead of playing, hah!) since PotM 2.0 came out and I think I have filled all gaps, so that spells like Darkfire, Negative Energy Protection etc that were not in the NWN2 set had unique and representative icons, as well as making new ones for all our new spells and feats and class features.
I don't have an Assassin or a Blackguard or a Pale Master or high level Bard etc etc so I was not able to verify that it all looked right in-game. So please, anyone that uses this pack let me know what you think if you play some of these more unique characters. I am very open to criticism, hit me up in pm or tell. I realize these won't be everyone's cup of tea, its merely an attempt to provide an alternative to NWN's monochromatic look that is compatible with all our custom content. I went through several drafts on most of these icons before being satisfied, but if one or two are not to your liking, feedback would be more than welcome.
As far as how they are packaged, I considered just putting the whole lot into the hak and as it IS unique to potm that would suffice and make it easier to install and manage. However, doing it this way means that if you are a player who plays on multiple servers that all the shared assets between the two will use the same set. Pluses and minuses to each way.
Anyway, enough explaining, better to show you...
