The sentences for these crimes may vary and characters may seek to negotiate with active members of the Gendarmerie to resolve hostilities within the region. Success is not assured and will be dependent on the severity of the crime and the efforts made to pursue a peaceable resolution.
Should severe and repeated criminal offenses occur against the country it is possible a character may be condemned in the depths of the Gendarmerie holdings where escape is not assured. It would only be through significant aid, and significant risk to these allies, that the condemned might be rescued from this fate.
