[The collective memory would remember the day the Gundarakite rebellion suffered gruesome defeat to the hands of the the infamous Personal Guard year 760. The personal guard who promoted full blooded barovian supremacy.

Known by most for the ultra-radical views of its leaders such as the eradication of the Gundarakite blooded and the outlander in the guard, the Purple regime was a brutal and particularly unforgiving to Gundarakites, promoting fear as a tool of dissuasion; (in)famously known for the number of criminal witches and entire Gundarakite families executed under its rule.

Most denizens of Vallaki would remember of the many witch stonings. They would attribute the creation of the Militia to the Personal guard during the Gundarakite genocide.

They would remember the charges of treason against Jerovich for kidnapping Dagris the Cruel. They would remember the beheading of Jerovich (August 28th) to the hand of the Count, in which the Personal Guard was outlawed, those surviving the executions either fleeing or dying. Some would remember the execution of second hand Vallaki's own Petre Chomski a year later (July 16th), said to had been Planning civil war at the Peaks of Ghakis.]
