Word around the Dwarf Home is that the kinsman known as Ulfr has returned from his trip to the lowlands of Barovia. He was seen returning home through the mines with three other dwarves and a local human. All five looked beaten, bloodied, and burned. Since his return, Ulfr has been seen walking the halls of his home in a fashion reminiscent of a patrol route. He has been seen patrolling the upper level of the mine as well. When not on his self appointed patrol duties, he is seen in the bar, where he occasionally purchases a round of drinks for his kin.  It has been noted by many of the guards that Ulfr will oftentimes pause at the entrance to the grand throne room, and peer in. Some say he hesitates, as though he wants to go in, but as of yet has always turned and continued his other activities.

Miners - working in the misty mountains of the Balinoks - speak rumours about a recent massacre having occured in the dvarven halls of Dvergenheim. Apparently some warrior in golden armor with a horned helmet had slain a good dozen of dwarves with a mighty axe. Sounds of grief and sorrow can be heard from the dwarven halls and rumours about the dwarven king seeking revenge on the one who did this....

Some people even claim that the brutal attacker had not only slaughtered the dwarves but also taken some of the corpses' eyes - the purpose of this remaining a mystery...

As the hour of the Moot draws closer, the halls of the Dwarf Home are buzzing with activity.  Tables and benches are pulled into the throne room, great casks of ale are rolled in, and kin move about with purpose. The promise of revelry and kinship hangs in the air.  Whispers abound that the food and drink are provided by none other than the Aglastan Trading Company. Many kinsmen are seen drifting in out of the mountains, lured home by the prospect of good food, great booze, and excellent company. Soon the Moot shall begin, and it promises to be a night not soon forgotten.

Hours after the Moot ended gossiping female dwarves amongst themselves spread more and more outrageous rumors of the bodily strength build of one mighty male dwarf by the name of Gorim who some say is a single man who could be a mighty fine catch for the interested female. Claims of his fighting prowess range from woman to woman but all gossip over left over fine ales after the men departed of his strength, and fine chiseled chest and beard.

Another social gossip among the more common males of the halls was the striking feminine dwarf figure of one female known as Berron Von Barthammer a native of the halls recently returned. The striking female figure was seen playing around the Moot musical, song, and story tales much of the night. Gossiping with commoner and more popular sorts as well before retiring with several other women murmuring over the gossip of the evening.

The final note of gossip among the commoner dwarves for some is that the Von Barthammer family caravan is now a week overdue from its return to Darkon. While their daughter seems concerned so far she seems to be putting on a positive front that a simple road delay is holding up their most recent journey from Darkon.

The royal hall is cleaned, and mopped. The carpet leading to the throne is removed and replaced, stained with blood. Hands hang the old covering above the entrance to the hall, the fine thread now painted a deep ruby. It hangs as a warning, perhaps, of the justice of the Dwarven realm.

Not a single soul in those halls looks upon it and does not know that it is the blood of the executed murderer Raidon Kane.

Whispers make their way around Dvergeheim of the Red Vardo Traders having brought in the bagged, bound man.

Once again the golden dwarf returns, this time with another letter of proposal. Once again he reads it aloud in his incredibly archaic dwarven, an accent so old one might find it carved into a rune in some ancient abandoned hall.

"To his majesty, King Moloch, first of his name, I, Thohed Obek of Clan Obek, do give greetings, and to his court and advisers I extend the same. I come before you on a matter of dwarven honor; for foul rumor, which runs like a bat in the caves, has flown to the ears of our people.

Higher upon the mountain, in the city of Krofburg, tremors have begun to effect these human folks, tremors that that similiarity to our own curse cannot be dismissed.

So i think to propose, for the sake of our honor, that it be investigated by those trusted to his majesty, whether or not these tremors may not be related to our own; if they are, I vouchsafe that our honor is at stake if we do not help to address this issue in fullness, for though we may bare this foul business with dwarven constitution and vigor, the humans are far frailer then we, and it would be truly dishonorable to allow our problems to become theirs through inaction.

-Signed,
Thohed Obek, Clan Obek, Third in line to the captaincy, Patroller of the long hall and deep road, and keeper of the keys of the sixth district of Balahron, Greatest City of the Deep Kingdom."

Rumors spread that a dragon-fiend has been toiling away at the smelters and anvils for the last couple of days.
Whoever was curious enough could see for themselves as the taller than elf yet elven creature with scales, wings, horns and a tail worked away with copper.
It's soon known what this dragon-fiend had the permission of the Kingsguard to utilize the forges and was to be treated with hospitality like that of any guest.

Moloch himself speaks to the dragon-fiend, and "Matron of Auvrea'rnith," along with a human outsider; he bestows on both promises of genuine friendship from the dwarven people.

Grumbles of discontent wind through Dvergeheim at this, of whether or not Moloch holds the best interests of the dwarves at heart, to propose friendship to a malcontent dragon. The High Priest Onar is silent when asked his opinion, though the grim fall of his brow betrays his ill thoughts of the circumstance.

A pale thin lady with unnaturally purple glowing eyes has been seen speaking to some dwarves recently about metals, and attending the library of the palace for long hours. It seems she is willingly paying this use of the books with several services offered to the people of the place for a given time.

Deep beneath the mountains there are words of a different sort. The ancient dwarven hold of Dvergeheim, now a crumbled remnant of its faded glory, is stirred by the one thing that no dwarf can resist, and something still more ancient... as the dwarven masters recall a glorious past and an ancestral claim to the mountains of the Balinoks and all that lies beneath. The dwarves mutter amongst themselves--the mountains are theirs, and what lies beneath them should be theirs. For with the promised wealth above Dvergeheim could be rebuilt three times over, and a new age for Dwarven-kind begun...

At the gates of the dwarven kingdom a foreign missionary delivers a sermon berating the stunted half men for their greedy and insolent characteristics. He preaches the virtues of Mankind and extols the manifest destiny that Zarus has proclaimed upon his rightful sons and daughters. The red missionary is careful not to enter the wretched domain of the halfmen.

Baern son of Bjorn, a dwarf known within the halls of Dvergeheim and named sergeant in King Moloch's service at the last moot, is seen nightly entering the great library of Dvergeheim.  He even found there come dawn, his face buried in the binding tome from any one one of the large stacks of dusty books piled high around his chair as he sleeps.  What long lost answers does he seek within these ancient pages?

Sigurdr, son of Grim, priest of Odin, of the Clan Dvergeheim, has returned to home and clan, to attend to his king's summons for aid.

The word is spreading among dwarves that a certain grizzled smith of reknown is hard at work preparing for the task ahead and that he will equip properly and free of charges, any kin responding to the call of King Moloch. One need only seek him at the Dvergeheim smithy.

Upon the ninth day, just as it had been with Odin, when the god hung himself from the great tree, bleeding out from a self-inflicted wound, so that he may gain the wisdom that only the dead may know, the spirit of Sigurdr, son of Grim, Priest of the Hanged God, Slayer of the Beast that Shook Dvergeheim, is believed to have departed his mountain home for the last time, no doubt, to once again seek knowledge and wisdom, and to join Odin and his ancestors in Valhalla, where he will eat, and he will drink, and fight alongside his clansman once again, in preparations for the end of days: Ragnarok.

Baffled dwarves are puzzled at the recent behavior of a certain grandmaster smith. First the call to be supplied a huge amount of rare metal, then hours spent in the library perusing tomes on a wide range of different topics including physics,  mechanics, clockmaking and philosophy. Is he making a golem or some sort of incredible machine to stop the tremors once and for all? He does not tell and the truth remains an unfathomable mystery to all. If that excentric behavior was not enough, he's been seen packing off his belonging and retrieving all his supplies from the Vaĺlaki warehouse stating only that he had to leave for an extended period of time. But if dwarves were puzzled, the Dementlieuse were downright flabbergasted when a rugged dwarf known more for his crafts and batte skills enlisted into the Port-à-Lucine University's Facultée des Sciences.
