Vallaki - Southern Forest - Degannwy
« on: May 19, 2008, 08:34:53 PM »
Ain'a is seen discussing with Lorelei about the events of the day. The marquessa dosn't seem very pleased with her words but nods in the end. Others discuss that the little wild elf traded the life of the falknovian man for a possibility of peace between Degannwy and Vallaki. Fears and hopes arises from the uncertain situation but the small elf has certainly proven her salt in combat in this day.

For a few evenings, many scouts from Degannwy speak of the swift punishment delivered to a traitor who was aiding the exiled elf called Yferia.

Yferia was said to be a rebel who wished death on all whom were not elves.  They also say that the traitor was interrogated by members of the group sent to stop Yferia though forced means which left him screaming.  In the end, the head scout ordered him hanged while still being alive, but that the leader of the group called Kheldin ran his blade through the traitor to end the shouting.

Word spreads around Degannwy from many scouts and residents, regarding warnings of I'llmane, the mad wizard, returning to corrupt them.  Residents of Degannwy are advised to be on the look out for any suspicious elven figure wearing a grey and red robe with disorientations on the arms.

"If you see I'llmane, report to either Vokarion or Lorelei."  Says some of the scouts.

Rangers are given words of two dwarfs in red cloaks to be forbidden entrance to Degannwy, after tossing insults about elves after making their purchase of dyes, they tried to  instigate a fight with some of the local elves that asked them to cease. Until a proper apology, they are not allowed back into the enclave.

Rumors mummer around Degannwy of a rather lanky looking half orc staying there. some welcome him and others are weary of this character.

As the darkness draws back before the sunlight, a crude sight is seen beyond the gates of Degannwy and the forests leading further up towards vallaki..

a deeds of a rabid bear, or a sick joke? Whomever, the local wildlife had it rough. Large number of deers minks and even wolfs have been slaughtered blindly, not mayhaps a work of frenzied pack of wolves, as the work seems to chaotic and raw, and it's hard to tell from the mass of dissected flesh and meat were anything actually eated.. the poor animals were mostly just killed.. torned apart, disembled..Some even found several feets high up the trees, impaled on the branches, crushed head of a deer laying on the mossy rock, while the body can be found in several pieces in radius of 50feet around..

Local Degannwy elves are seen asking a snow elf and drow to leave because of issues of violence in the camp. The snow elf carries out a woman in a mask, still covered in fresh blood.

Refugees in the camp of Degannwy, cloaked and hooded, a large woman and a small runty man took a corner to call their own. Firecamp and music echoes from their camp, elves curiously watching them interact.

A very large man dressed in heavy furs and waring a bears head has been seen in Degannwy. Many of the elves talk about how he has tried to offer helping in the village. Many of the elves explane to him that most of there needs are already met. When they see he is saddened by this they then ask him to gather wood for there fires and he then happly he runs into the forest to cut some wood.

But most time they see he watching the gates. When asked what he i waiting for he simply says that his family is going to visit him. But when the sun goes down they watch him walk to a far corner of the village. He sets up a tent, makes a fire and sits and watches the flames till the fire goes low before entering his tent.

The elves of deganwanny report of a large plate clad figure hooded and silent, carrying brother dongs corpse as if it was a rag doll entering the place by nightfall

He gingerly left the body in the care of the elves, and was herd murmuring a soft prayer over him.

*take care of this brother* he said in a sad voice

when asked who he was, a single word was uttered before he left

I am Cain, the watcher

A young woman with bronze features can be spied in Degannwy, sitting among the trees and accompanied by a good size brown bear. Small animals seem attracted by her presence and she enjoys speaking with them, as if a teacher before her class. Even if she speaks softly, the name Hala can be heard with a gentle tone.

[After a young elven druid harmed a tree within Degannwy, Gwerydd stepped out and challenged him to a druidic duel. Flames and Lightning struck the grounds, until the elven boy fell at her feet in pain and shame. He was mended only enough to stand, then cast out from Degannwy warned never to return until he changed his ways, and ceased his threats. The root of Yggdrasil that was once gifted to him fell from his hands, and was returned to Degannwy, as the observers shook their heads with disdain, whispers spreading]

Throughout the Degannwy nights, a subtle sound fills the air. Sometimes a violin sounding out a melancholy nocturne, sometimes a harp twinkling a melody from the stars, but every time the source is situated somewhere different in Degannwy: A charcoal-skinned half-breed in red and black.

A letter is left written in attractive elven script.

" To the great archer known as Lyr, My name is Cynthia and I have heard many things about you, I hoped we could meet in person some time to discuss archery. I am often at the Lady's rest inn but will go to any place of your choosing."

In an upstairs room at Nant Gaerwyn, Lyndis kneels in what resembles prayer. Nothing done to her evokes a response, and her breathing is very even and light. Despite the catatonic, almost comatose state, she seems perfectly peaceful, in Paladine's hands.

A human, dressed in blue, has been seen dwelling more and more often in Degannwy. He alternates moment of deep sadness to others of joy, and he sing and plays for the guests, somber or merry tunes accordingly to his moods. They say he comes from Kartakass, or from Vallaki, he can understand some few words in Elven when they talk to him. They say he likes walking alone in the wood, looking and sighing to the Moon, and disappearing for long hours during the nights, just to come back in one of those dramatically opposite moods.

Aleyi who been residing a lot in Deganwy from time to time seems a bit annoyed at the human presence in the residence. He himself is of course not a elf himself but enjoy being away from Vallaki and it's corrupted people.

Word is spreading that a murder has occurred just outside Degannwy, the elven sanctuary. The victim, one Tarinyar Chevalier, was last seen entering the Southern Forest with an unmistakably tall elven being clad in red and black. After a brief meeting, it seems they left the peaceful haven at the same time, where a gruesome attack ensued. A wild, brooding sense of feeling seems to linger in the air at the scene of the crime, and there are whispers of a trail of mysterious scorchmarks making their way deep into the woods and ending right at the western forest border.

The elven bard Ramika is seen by the inhabitants of the city being carried by known Red Vardo Simon Cray, wrapped up in a cloak, as if she were asleep. His words, "this is a solemn day" echo in the halls of the interior as he, followed by the elven woman Maryn and the drow Thraxys, disappear into the western part of the forest with the body.

It has not gone unnoticed that the horned merchant Kolgrímur is apt to to come to and fro the dwelling of fey on many an occasion, with his dark elf maiden as company. He seems to stop there for few days at a time, conducting trade with with interested visitors.

*notice posted in Degannwy by an unseen hand*

Beware, there is a new group of creatures of unknown number about.

What is known:
  • They have horns and goat-like legs
  • They are fond of using bows
  • They are good at hiding, using traps, and ambushes. (attacked in the Valiki outskirts in the middle of the day yet were not seen by guarda or Radu)
  • They seem to be hunting people for food and prefer the flesh of Elves and Hin, in that order.
  • They are caves for shelter, might be moving frequently to avoid detection
