It is whispered that due to recent events the clientele at the Broken Bell inn has seen a sudden small flock of uncasual high profile customers, it is said that rich entrepreneur Armand LeBarthe, with an odd accented man from Lamordia and other figures have been frequenting the establishment and the market district; surveying the operations, shaking hands with peasants.
-
Whispers mention a certain flop Armand LeBarthe increasing his visits to the Broken Bell, some speak of lenghty discussions with the innkeeper, mentions of moral support of those renovating the inn on site; others mention him walking around the Market district, explaining and promoting to the illiterate his late Vallaki Talent search...
-
Whispers mention of an outlander bard lass, frequently sitting at a dark corner of the inn and many times playing outlander music for the customers. Most of the times she's in company of a certain young guard of Vallaki, and sometimes with another one. They both seem to be her acquaintances.
Though she seems pretty talented with the violin, most are annoyed by the fact that she only plays outlander music, instead of local tunes.
-
As the morning mist fades under the rising sun, word spreads of the death of a local man at the Broken Bell Inn. The stories vary. But, for the relatives, no matter what the version, they mourn the loss, and fear the worst. By most accounts, the man was standing, bottle in hand, healthy as a stubborn mule, when all of a sudden he collapsed like a sack of potatoes. He was pronounced dead on the spot. While the sudden death of this beloved man, father, brother, husband, and provider for his family, left all dumbfounded and worried of plague or poison, what transpired next is cause for even greater alarm. The dead man rose by some will that was not his own, neither truly alive, nor truly dead.
If not for the decisive action of the Barovian guard, some mention Sergeant Ivanovich in particular, more than one family would be in mourning this morning.
Folks continue to speculate through the day as to the source of such foul witchery.
Some rumor that an outlander man had been in at the Broken Bell Inn earlier that day, and upon being questioned by the local guards, threatened revenge to come.
-
Words and rumors of a grand play being prepared in the basement of the Broken Bell fills the inn, commoners and outlanders alike sharing their thought on the subject
"..be some damn fey outlander with a hat that prepares it all.. why they be allowed in here anyways?"
"..Oh i heard the tailor Kukri was going to put a show, knowing her its going to be grandiose!"
"..heard talk of witchery from that one.. not good i tell yeh.."
When asked about it, the barkeep Samvel shrugs and says outloud to whomever wants to hear it
"..She caused no troubles in here, talk too damn loud for sure so i let her down there with her crowd, got way quieter that way. Eh gonna be good for business i figure either way."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The letter sent by carrier to the brokenbell, labeled
"To madison"
Dear Madison...
I find myself farther away then I ever feared this curse would take me.
one under my gaurd has gone missing, I don't know how I belive the mists took him thought...
I've been running for a week now, day and night, I pray this letter gets to you.
I'm nearing the my destination, it shouldn't be horribly long now.
thought I dread this time away from you, what I fear worst is the vistani undoing what they did if I don't do this.
With love
-Tarth De'Mealthra
Madison sits in her usual spot at the bar with the drunken bard, Finn, when the letter arrives. She accepts the letter, and pays the messenger, reading it carefully. "whos it from?" he asks her. She stares at it, and sighs thoughtfully. "Uh, whats it say then....?" he now asks with more concern.
Madison very carefully tucks the letter away. "Tarth has to go away for a while. He'll be back."
"ya going to be all right, right?"
She forces a brave smile. "Of course, he does what he does for both of us. now, another drink!" she slides some coins towards samvel, and Finn drops the subject at the mention of more booze.

few farmers tell a tale about gruesome event they witnessed earlier at the farms outside Vallaki. They witnessed a whiterobed man walk into dense mist near the forest edge, despite the warnings they yelled robed figure were engulfed by the mists. Farmers resumed to their work muttering about crazy outlanders when suddenly their work was interrupted by blood chilling scream by male person, possibly the one entering the mist.
Soon after the incident mists cleared and nothing else was found except torn white robes and blood on the ground, one can just wonder what has happened to the man..

For the second time the red headed poet came to marvel the usual of the Broken bell's theater with her stories but this time as an extra, a special play was put in the spot light, a trajic story of love was presented by two fey and a human. The excentric red headed couple and a unknowned human actor stole the stage for a few marvelous hours. Words rumors that their acting felt so real that some thought they had truely died.

Dressed in her fancy yet classic outfit, Melanie scoots between the merchants's tables, dodging chickens cages and boxes of veggies. Her blond curls hidden in her hood, she quickly makes her way toward the Bibliotheque, a pile of books held carefully against her chest. Everyday she observes the merchants and their figures, sometimes sitting by the statue of the Lord to sketches the market, the movement of the guards, the different colors of the scene as the light changes torought the day.

patrons whisper with each other, similar event happened on the southern farms that happened few nights ago in village of barovia. Cattle was brutally mutilated and blood was spilled. on the wall of the farm house is clearly seen bloody hand prints going across the wall.
farmworker heard the death moans of the cow, but couldnt see the culprit becouse it was so dark outside, almost un-naturally dark. is it a seperate case or has something arrived vallaki.
-
Hushed, panicked whispers and commotion could be heard coming from the second floor at the inn. Gore and undefined icky stuff sprayed over the rug in the hall...
A female, hooded and cloaked, was seen leaving just as panicked as she entered and a boyar guard, clearly recognizable in his uniform, hot on her heels...
Most patrons would recognize the female, despite her hood and cloak, as a minstrel frequently visiting the inn.
Coincidentally, the guard captain of the boyar von Zeklos was also observed entering the inn about the same time as the other two. Whether he had any relation to the occurrences, or not, remains unknown...However, he was not seen leaving the inn with the pair.

There is a letter left with the front desk of the broken bell for Armande
The seal on the envelop is that of an umbrella.
Dear Armande
The ladies of the Black Umbrella club wish an audience with you in regards to renting out your theatre for and up and coming event. You may reach anyone of us at the Blue water inn. We thank you for your time in this matter
Isabella von Stark
-
Armand LeBarthe,
Thank you for the generous offer for the theatre but I am afraid the Black Umbrella Club must decline. I find being forced to have unwanted security so that we lose money on this function the height of absurdity. I will not help the Vardo rob the Count's armies and am shocked you would consider such a thing. It is clear the Vardo no longer respect the Count, I hope you are not in a similar mindset.

*Katalyn Schoppen promptly leaves her name with the bartender and goes on her merry way*
-
A young looking man and woman came in the Blue Water, they could have been mistaken for vistani by their bright clothing and tanned skin but their thick accent and attitude gave out a outlander's feeling. Many turned to watch the pleasant looking dual cross the room to the bar where they rented a room, later the bartender showed around the gold coins they had handed them, stamped with an odd symbol he had never seen before.
-
Another name is left with the bartender; Esmeralda I. Tathorian.

Waiting her to pop up at the inn, in order to wait together for their friend to help, she read the message and signed with her name. Imojina Nabokov.

Over the recent days, since the catastrophe at the western gate of Vallaki, many individuals have been enjoying many nights of social enjoyment. They pass stories of mini-performances, friendly dice-games, drinks, and parties. Employment to willing workers has also been mixing with the stories. Those new to the all the festivities have been told to spread the word that the Broken Bell Inn has raised the bar in activity!
-
A Stern young Barovian man with a wicked scar on his face, and a tightly buckled longsword visits the Broken Bell inn. He leaves with the Bartender a simple letter for the owner.
Dear Sir,
My name is Dragomir Katzinkaly. I am a veteran of three years of Gaurd Service as well as service with distinction in two major engagements during the Invidian war. I have noticed that despite your establishments proximity to sewer holes and alleys, and despite the presence of wicked beasties at night, your inn has no protection. The Broken Bell has a full detail of City Guard, and that hole the Ladies Rest even has a stout bouncer. I would suggest myself for some sort of security/bouncer posistion, to work in your establishment and keep it safe when the City Guard fear to tread. I am no stranger to fighting the beasts of the Night, and I have personal incentive to protect your inn- I will not run off at the first sign of true danger like some death shy mercenary. I come fitted with my own gear and supplies, and wages are highly negotiable. If your interested, I'll be in touch.
Signed,
Dragomir Katzinkaly

A lady in tight suit, red hair seen under her hat, with a guitar in her hands, passes by, reads the notices, hums on herself, and writes an unsigned note:
"WHERE ARE THOSE SKELETONS COMEDIANS EVERYONE SPEAK ABOUT?"
Then shifts away calmly and rubbing her chin exclaims all alone "Hey! I'm pretty sure those ones are actors in scary disguises. Furrrrrrry!".
She safely arrived at the Broken Bell, running and sweating, fleeing from wererats. The only thing people could hear from her mouth was: "Luckily I'm well trained at jogging!".

A woman of slightly pale skin and undeniable beauty frequents the Broken Bell Inn, frequently seen with Armand Le Barthe and his troupe. There's something about her, that makes her look less like an outlander but her slightly pale face betrays it still. She frequently plays the violin for the guests, exceptionally, and notably once in a while a Vistani Ballad.
The guests don't seem to mind her as she refrains from making a lot of fuss, mostly sitting silent or playing her violin and having a drink.
-
A letter was delivered to Samvel the barkeep, for a Katalyn Schoppen.
Miss Schoppen,
At your earliest convenience I would like to meet you. I was hired by Armand LeBarthe weeks ago
for your play and we should meet up to discuss what part I will have in it all.
Regards,
~Natalie Theserran

Laughing abounds at the Broken bell one night of a male drunk pesant who continously slurred lurrid words to a barovian woman of fine build, apperance, and mind. A few whispered the named florence after the event took place.
The man after repeated slurred advances on the woman who turned him down politly but firmly each time finally seemed to have enough of them and using a small blade delivered a slight cut down his cheek. "When I say no! I mean NO!" She was heard saying forcefully. The man in his drunken stupor seemed to pass out from both the combination of shock, pain, and drink. The woman was seen sighing then and then tended to the cut she had made using a variety of salves and simple cloth wrappings.
When asked by one outlander why she didnt just use healing magics she gave a sour face to the man. "I wouldnt sully my body with such foul cultists arts. Also making one self become dependent on such things weakens the body." She was heard saying.
Once her task was done the drunken man was taken up stairs and the woman sat back down to her drink for the last few hours of the night.

Dear friend, a man named Tate Dalton, remember dis name. Dark hair and impossible sideburns, if you see him i would keep my eye on dat man. A pick pocket and a thief, he was lifting pockets earlier today in town. Also i have seen him lurking near de theater.
Samvel nods and goes back to washing his mugs, reminding himself to keep an eye out for the thief.

I would like to speak to Mr. LeBarthe.

Word spreads quickly that one recent eve, the Shadow Fey that was stalking the town of Vallaki was put to an end at the Broken Bell while attempting to steal the shadow of a Barovian lady. Customers reported hearing strange noises upstairs. Then, not long after, several guards and outlanders ran out of the front door. Rumors say that both guards and outlanders looked to have witchery on them, but some dismiss this as rumors. As days passed, locals resumed their usual hatred of all non human Barovian natives, but weren't going so far as to be outright hostile to them.
A pair of local drunks were having a conversation not long afterward.
Drunk A: "Hear that thar fey were kilt."
Drunk B: "Da. Right here in tha inn. Upstairs, I believe."
Drunk A: "Guess them good ol boys nu be able ta beat an' lynch fey no mer."
A rather large gentleman sitting at the bar overhears the talking and tells them both: "I wouldn't be so sure about that."
With a wink, the large man leaves.

Despite the Affair announced being closed about the Fey, the Broken Bell still warns Fey from entering past its door, The Ban on Fey remains much to the pleasure of Vallaki Locals.
A Large Sign with a Drawing of an Elf Cicled with an Interdiction RED MARK is seen at the Door of the Broken Bell.
The Broken Bell Inn Takes initiative as proud and Fine Barovian establishment by Tradition and will Tolerate NO Fey whitin its Walls!

Rumor has it that the Broken Bell offers a free Meal to any of the Count's guardsman, some say this generous offer is paid directly by LeBarthe's pockets, others praise the generosity and patriotism of Igor, The Owner.
-
Often a pale young barovian man is seen hanging about the Inn. Asking questions regarding the patron of the Inn Mr. LeBarth. He is very polite almost cordial. Often he simply buys the people who speak a drink and leaves.
-
A notice posted outside the Bell
Wanted, cold stones and pitic iron. Will pay well. See Private Ileanna Antropov or leave word at the bar.

Two new faces have been seen among the staff of the Broken Bell Inn lately.

LeBarthe is seen chuckling with some patrons, telling them about the Fight and on how this little girl Ain'a beat the Falkonovian terror, Vladimir to a pulp; he speaks of the Countless times Falkonovia invaded his home country of Dementlieu without success, promissing to spread the tale of Falkonovian Vladimir to the far reaches of Port-a-Lucine.
-
Word spread that wealthy outlander Armand LeBarthe was seen accompanied by two Elves which he refered to as "heroic", mentionning that they refused to take on the reward of 20 000 fang for capturing Vladimir The Menace.
Mentions of Fey Ain'a, the same petite fey girl that beat the towering hulking Falkovian from the country, this time not with her fists, but with a sword.
-
These elves however, are still not allowed in the Inn, as they are "Damn Dirty Fey", proclaims the owner.
-
Patrons of the Broken Bell, regulars could murmur intrusively about LeBarthe's recent interest with the Vistani blooded woman dancer Yvonne, they would mention her often being at the inn, and walking both downstairs and upstairs with the woman, ....
-
Word spreads quickly that a very angry Ileanna Antropov stormed into the Bell and shortly after was seen throwing things out of an upstairs window. The whole market area was soon littered with expensive men's clothing, play scripts and sheet music. The screaming and swearing that ensued was not for the faint of heart. A badly battered, half naked Vistani girl was seen running out of the inn shortly after crying in her ripped undergarments, her face was covered with welts and bruises.
-
Beautiful music and singing can be heard from the theater, the theater's beautiful caretaker is known to go there often and sing for the mere pleasure of doing so.
-
Dragomirs grim and imposing presence looms in the Bell as of late, apparently employed there as a bouncer. He says little, simply watching and intervening when there are disruptions.
-
Vino hunches into the Broken Bell, looking pale as white sheet and supported by staff. He looks like he is severe pain, and extremely disoriented.
After renting a room and he feebly makes his way upstairs and remains there for sometime

Vallaki guards have doubled the effectives in the market district, gossip mention something hidden from the paesantry to happen soon.
-
Samvel can be seen happily repairing a fair-sized hole in the upstairs wall of the hall at the Bell. It seems the damages were paid for, and paid for well.
-
Talks grows of the raid that happened not even a forth night ago, guards and militia troops raiding the Red Vardo store neighboring the Broken Bell. They pulled out a few boxes and arrested a bunch of them, fey with magic too! Never trusted them, good thing i say! whispers left and right the locals.
-
"Missing! Can't even keep track of their own men!" *snickering*
*Some snide locals are heard chuckling and laughing in hushed tones amongst themselves about the Vardo, the great recoverers of things and people, not being able to find a man of their own. Locals keep speaking of the general decline of the Vardo as of late and some of the older ones, trying to hush the imprudence of the younger ones, recall a time when the Vardo were something respected, all while looking nervously behind them.*
-
A bottle of wine is left at the foot of the vardo store, a note folded addressed to the captain Vladu can be read in balok.
You had your business talk, now meet me for a drink. -S.C
-
* a letter is left for Miss Stela Cojocaru. It is not signed*
I would like to meet you for dinner around The Ladies Rest. The meal itself may take place wherever you like. I'll be about, we will discuss business soon.

The whole chaotic time around the inn makes Aleyi frown, muttering swearing words in silence and in his mind cursing most of the rich dastardly bastards to the wild.
Theatrical muppets, thinking to put up an act...in these days, in this place...stealing a few good'a friendships too He mutters in his room before heading to bed in the Broken Bell.
He been stroking about the inn latests days and been sitting alone or in some what discussion with some of the people that Is in the acts.
-
One rumor has it that the Ezrite Nell Ward has been at the Broken Bell as of late, and seems to have taken up art appreciation, as an admirer of oil and water color paintings.
-
A few new paintings now ornate the theater, the portrait of a man and a woman. The artist is rumored to have mysteriously died at the Broken Bell.
-
Rebel attack!
Patrons have deserted the Broken Bell for most part after a bloody rebel attack, the carpet and floor were covered in blood as the rebel held several hostages at the inn, some mention a quarrel between a guardsman and a rebel, resulting in a tremendous ruckus, some mention Noica herself feel under the blows to be cared by an outlander woman, another mentions an heroic act by a strange looking outlander that chased them off, a fist fighter of incredible speed.
-
The poster of the rehearsal has been taken down temporarily and replaced with a small notice:
CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
~The Management
-
Belinda at mroning looks at the poster, though she already knew what it was about, sighs, and goes away cursing under her breath.
-
Gossip spreads in the market district about three brute men added as new bouncers for the Broken Bell.
The next morning, Mr. Lacusta reposts the "Seasons of Wandering" rehearsal poster that was previously removed.
OOC - This Sunday. Time will be based on the amount of PCs taking part in the rehearsal present, since a specific time is difficult on such short notice.
-
*Belinda waits impatiently for the newly planned reharsals, but leaves a note to the attention of Mykel Lacusta*
"Call me only for the time strictly needed for the work. The place has become dangerous, full of beggars and I don't feel treated as I deserve, that is as a lady. I know the inn needs patrons, but I need tranquillity for my work. If false rumours and evil gazes addressed at my person do not end, I am likely to end here and now our partnership. I am seriously considering not to work there not even for the next play. The Broken Bell is becoming worse than the Lady's Rest.
Belinda Pope."
OOC: more or less you all know my timetables so I only hope to be there

Three people dead? I heard it was five...
Broken Bell closed!?
Samvel finally coming to his senses and quitting his job?
*locals whisper about the horrid were-rat attack in the Bell that happened some time ago*
Some foolish outlanders managed to get a great were-rat riled up and left a door open for it to get inside!
Should have them all flogged if you ask me..
-
Aceline Lanner, a waitress at the Bell, stays behind to clean up the blood from the floor...reluctant to leave Igor alone in his kitchen but anxious to get out of the slaughter house.
Finally when all is put back to normal -as normal as it can be without Samvel- Igor sends her off to the Outskirts, wanting to be alone, unsure how much safer she'd be out there...
Unsure of when the Bell will re open, or if she'd even intend to go back to work, she heads to the outskirts and collapses into a warm bed at the lady's rest.
-
Dragomir is heard to be rambling, in his usual fashion, between bitter quips and the lauds of the many virtues of Porkchops, about how dissapointed he is he not only lost a good job with the closing of the Bell, but missed a good fight on what proved to be his first and perhaps only day off from standing around with a club looking mean/

At the Broken Bell, Samvel holds a letter addressed to Katalyn
(http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b228/DeathKnite/KatalynLetter.jpg)
-
Beautiful Suzette de Lacroix was seen storming off the Broken bell late in the afternoon, arguing outraged with her assistant Mykel Lacusta on her heels, a few days later every single one of her possessions were taken from the Bell and moved to the Blue water inn. Not more is the exotic music heard from the Bell.
-
A small blond waitress at the Bell known as Ace was rumored to be with child... those rumors are confirmed as months go by and she steadily becomes larger. Not so small anymore, but still up and on her feet, she acts as if nothings changed and when asked about it she just shrugs and pats her tummy, walking off.
She does seem a great deal more tired than usual...and not as quick. But she's still chatty and friendly, ignoring curious or judging glances as she continues her work.
-
A note is left with Samvel to be given to Katalyn Schoppen and Belinda Pope:
Ladies, meet with me as soon as possible.
~Mykel Lacusta, Manager
-
Belinda has been seen speaking with Mykel, playing the fool in the Ouskirts, then vanished. Friends know where finding her.
-
Belinda Pope has been seen speaking intelntly with mister Armand LeBarthe and going down the theatre with him. Eventually, merrily she has offered free food and wine for all the patrons. Rumours say she now is looking for new talented artists for any kind of show, from dances to readings, from plays to songs, offering her full availability at the Broken Bell.

A lot of movement has been noticed around the Broken Bell inn, artists, journalists or simply curious people. It's rumoured that a poetical reading is ready and will be soon given as a meal for the hungry and expecting audience.
-
[A young, Asian, looking man reads the poster in passing and thinks thoughtfully as he walks down the street, trying to get out of the City before the Curfew is put into place.]
-
Guards have been seen burning a REGULAR night pass to miss Belinda Pope in the inn and abusing verbally of her. The lady has been seen waving Samvell simply telling not to wait for her for some nights. Some notes have been left to a few friends.
-
Two patrons speak at a table one afternoon.
"Seen tha' there fop, Lacusta 'gain recently, eh?"
"Who!?"
"Tha' fop, da! The one tha' been real inactive since all 'em happenings at the theatre went stale."
"Ah, righ'. What 'bout him?"
"Been seein' him more lately, an' today he were lookin' for tha' reporter domnisora, Zomulich."
"Damn fops, always lookin' for somethin'!"

rumors spread among the tavern patrons of the private party taking place in the theater bellow. the Stravokov's were seen entering with their party. after a few hours two nobles, a man, and woman are seen charging out of the establishment in an upset manner.
the Broken Bell's Patrons whisper insults of spoiled upbringings and pampered lifestyles of the Gorgeous fops bellow.

Music and songs echoes once more from the theater of the Broken Bell. It is not unheard of to see random people headed down simply for a peek at the newcomers. A couple of gyspsy in bright colors and a lithe woman come in and out at all hours carrying instruments with them and laughs all around. A fat man is also seen, rarely leaving the theater himself.
-
Upon hearing the news of her fiance's possible execution, Ruxandra Stanga, recent patron of the Broken Bell Inn, is completely heartbroken. The infamous socialite breaks down in tears, ranting to random peasants about the successes of Alexi, her beloved. She informs the entire inn of his recent accomplishments in destroying some foul witches Vallaki has seen in recent days. She makes sure to point out the fact that her beloved Alexi spent his evening at Tigan's rest when the supposed murder took place, though for some reason the fact itself seems to have been completely disregarded. The woman spends her night crying near the fireplace before finally retiring the bed
-
It is no secret that the Broken Bell Inn in Vallaki has been all but empty as of late, so much that a local minstrel
by the name of Yelena Vladu has been hired, in hopes to attract attention to the market-side establishment...
Few would recognize the Barovian woman's name, although the few that would remember her would remain
well aware that her family had disowned her quite some time ago. It's a wonder that the instrumentalist managed
to stay alive and healthy all these years... One could not help but wonder what would cause an entire family to
deny her very existence... Some claim that she was caught by her father throwing away what little fang they had
on courtesans. Some would dismiss that it was due to the fact that she would rather follow the ways of a bard,
instead of carrying on the Vladu name. This would hopefully attract some attention to the inn, nonetheless.
-
The Broken Bell Inn is rumoured to have begun hiring staff once more.
Their first acquisition appears to be a lovely young waitress called Eliza.
Rumour has it that she was hired within the first five minutes of her trial shift and has already secured some regular customers with her warm, ready smile and other assets.
-
Quasi-famous Garda Katzinkaly begins ending his patrols every day at the Broken Bell, checking in on the young waitress Eliza, and spending the night there on his days off. Despite initial appearances, there seems to be nothing amorous about the attention, as the barovian man arrives and leaves each night looking as serious and grim as the grave.
-
Peasants murmur about young Katzinkaly's love life, many remembering the young widower's wife, once employed at the Broken Bell, they shake their heads at the tragedy and rumor about the new waitress' relation with him.
-
A local man by the name of Petru was seen thrown out of the bell, stinking of his own Urine, by the guarda Cosmin Slabu.
Petru apparently tried to hide in the waitress' room to ambush her in the night.
-
strange activity befalls the inn as old night descends. some of the patrons having witnessed odd occurances. door's open, candles extinguishing on their own. sending shivers down their spines as an unseen presence lurks in the grip of darkness...
-
The Broken Bell appears to have become a common gathering point for off duty guarda.
It is a rare day when one or more guarda are not seen relaxing and enjoying the food, drink and company to be found at the swiftly revitalising establishment.
-
Rumours abound at the broken bell.
Five zaruthians, one of them a woman are seen to buy a single key and head upstairs in a group. Murmurings begin about wild cultist orgies and the base and vulgar nature of cultist women, to sleep with so many men.
After their rumoured orgy, the Zaruthians are seen retiring to seperate rooms to sleep off their disgusting debauchery.
-
*Patrons murmur and panic as screams echo in the rooms above. Several staying at the Inn quickly leave when they see a murderous witch chasing a man down who is later to be discovered as Alexi Toskalov the Militian. None can identify the witch other than in drab dirty leathers and covered in ladul magics. Samvel is seen ducking and hiding behind his bar until the foul thing would leave. A suitcase in one room remains half-packed, never having been completely packed with blood around it.The owner of said suitcase was none other than the outlander lover Valentina Petrov who was last seen with the known Dementilu witch Du Bourg*
-
Locals gossip about the pathetic state of suspended Militia man Alexi Toskala who has taken to excessive drink and looking for fights. He babbles angrily about being suspended for burning a witch and of being betrayed by the lying whore Petrov. There is a clear air of danger about him and many suspect it is only a matter of time before something sets him off into a destructive rage.
-
Rumors begin to spread of a local Barovian drunkard, Petru, picking a fight with an old Gundarakite man who began to drink there recently. The Gundarakite walked away with only a few bruises and bumps - the drunkard did not fare so well, having a broken nose among other obvious injuries. He hasn't been so vocal since.
-
Previous Broken Bell Theatre manager Mykel Lacusta has been seen on occasions visiting patrons of various backgrounds, discussing the idea for a new potential project. Those who have known his history with projects scoff, but nevertheless, the offer seems almost too good to be true; the opportunity of a lifetime as he has mentioned to his colleagues.

A rumour spreads that a vrolok attack on the bell was fended off by the noble guarda of Vallakai.

All members of the Broken Bell Theatre Company. We are in need of a general staff meeting , please let me know when a convenient time is, I was hoping we could do something by weeks end.
Sonja Markova
Theatre Manager
-
Word spreads that upset with Eliza ursurping control of the theatre, Sonja Markova has resigned as theatre manager. She is seen packing her things and moving to the Blue Water.
-
Word spreads about the recent attacks the establishment has endured. The patrons begin deserting the establishment that often offers rooms, food and drinks at a lowered price.
-
New rumours begin to spread that the staff of the broken bell have gone so far as to employ a cultist to eliminate their vrolok problem, most of the population is torn between disgust, fear and uneasy acceptance. After all, what else could be done? Will customers return to the Bell now that the threat is being managed? Only time will tell.
-
Rumors of another vampire attack on the Broken Bell slowly begin to surface. The patron Domna Ruxandra Stanga was carried from a back room by an oddly dressed man, a small wound noticable on the side of her neck. She says her attacker wore an eye patch and had eyes the color of blood. He entered the establishment as a mist and seemed to leave just as quickly as he came.
-
Rumours begin to spread once more that the Bell has opened two of its rooms to Cultists, it is said that Dawnspear Addams and Bishop Cornelius will be staying at the Bell on a regular basis, so Vroloks Beware!
-
Off duty Vallaki Guards from the 86th Hykra "The Wardogs" have been spending alot of time at the popular Barovian tavern. The clientele and staff are appreciative to have the local law authority present to keep the riffraff out. Not to mention all the coin they spend on the food and drinks.
-
it seems that the garlic has been removed that was in front of the door, both inside and out. All sources seem to point to the young barovian violinist Denisa as the Culprit for this strange activity. Though at the same time, she was said to be acting slightly strange lately, wearing a cloak in doors for some time among other things.
-
After these worrying rumours about the Bell violinist Eliza is seen, when Denisa is not present, painting lines of some kind of mix of holy water and garlic, mixed in a silver chalice. She is seen to do this every sunset.
-
Two off duty Vallaki Guardsmen where attacked inside the Bell last night. The attacker was described as a spell flinging Witch-Knight. The valiant soldiers fought the man and gave chase into the streets were they where ambused. One of the Garda had his eyes torn out.
-
A cultist of Thor is seen healing the wound of the garda, In the distance as the garda leave the cultist of Thor yells now you will call me Dwarf!!
-
The young violinist denisa is seen to be in sheer terror and fright. blood seems to be smeared on her clothes with her clothes being torn, especially around the stomach. The rumors do not state what caused this leading to various things to be the cause of the incident. some say a vicious neuri did this, others say a barbaric vrolok did this, and others label some other monster, but it is always some sort of brutal monster.
-
Once again rumors spread of the cursed Broken Bell Inn. The most recent attack is on the lips of peasants. It is said that a small rat transformed into a rat neuri inside the dining room of the inn. The rat was chased away after quite a fight, leaving the interior of the inn battered and covered in blood. Patrons are scarce and those who remain are on edge.

-
A very handsome blonde man, with a thick Kartakan accent, has been seen mimicing a barbarian Terg in front of domna Denisa at the Broken Bell. Some people say his name being Noir of Skald.
Yet some other patrons seem to know the guy with another name, and even pretty well....
-
Word and gossip spreads by the patrons of the Broken Bell inn on behalf of Lance Corporal Elton Malbroke. While many praise the quick ascension of the guard, many question the man's origins and background.
"Elton Malbroke, that sound outlanderish to me, perhaps he hails from some outlander-loving family?"
"Think he's got Vistani blood, a bun man, but he's nu perfect, me think".
-
Word of the return of Barnabas Krovache, "The good Lieutenant" spreads at the Broken Bell, some say he visits the backroom past the kitchen quite often these days.
-
The local patrons murmur amongst themselves about the disgrace of the youth who have fallen to the corruption of outlandish ideals. Many shook their head in disapproval as two well known barovian women broke into a public brawl both vocal and physical about witchery and love for outlanders. One barovian girl in particular took to cowering in a corner when it came to blows, fearful of how defensive her own people were of outlanders and their ways.
-
A pale lady with a missing hand has been seen talking, at first hushedly then rather low-voice but still audible, with Stanga cousins. Despite her Darkonese-Outlander accent, it was clear by her words she spoke of a party being held very soon in Port-ŕ-Lucine, with nice food, drinks, entertainment. Domn Stanga seems to have invited one of the two women working at the Bell. The lady seems having poiltely refused.
-
Rumour spreads that Elton Belovich, Lance corpral of the guarda stumbled into the Bell today with a nasty head wound. His wounds were treated by Eliza, the ever-present, do-gooder waitress. The pair are apparently quite close and some people mumble about failed relationships being re-kindled.
Some people also mention that the self same waitress spent most of the previous night talking with Adrian Stanga, who took up residence at the bar she was minding while Samvel had his day off.
Also there are mixed feelings about the scribe, Denisa: Apparently she was chewed out by both Igor and Eliza for putting up oposters stating that Outlanders are not welcome at the Broken Bell, some of the clientell agree with the young scribes sentiment, but many also understand that outlanders are a source of coin, albiet one to be harnessed reluctantly.
-
There is talk about an upcoming day when food and drinks shall be half-off, though it is not stated when it is. Despite not knowing when it is, it certainly gets people talking. It is rumored that the scribe Denisa is the one planning such an event.
-
Long term on and off patron of the Broken Bell, Ruxandra Stanga, is seen leaving the inn during the early morning hours. She carries a small bag with her and wears what would appear to be the garb of someone going on the road. She hands two wax sealed envelopes to Samvel. A return to Port-a-Lucine is on the lips of some of the patrons.
-
Word spreads about the latest regular visitors at the Broken Bell. The older patrons of the inn recognize the famous Red Vardo Attires of Olden days, men from the West they say, from Krezk. It is said the elderly patron always orders the same dishes: Mamiglia and Igor's famous Barovian stew...
-
The past nights events seem to be upon people's lip. Two hooded strangers entered the Broken bell and then the Local known as Ruxandra openly performed magic upon herself. The spell is varied from each telling, some say it was to ward off the vampires some say it was to strengthen her. She also took out a holy symbol to Ezra and chanted a prayer out loud oceanfront of everyone in the Bell. She seemed to drive the male back but it took a while for the female to leave the Bell. She seems to be spoken of, some speak of her well and her saving the inn from the blood sucking fiends. Others speak ill of her open use of witch craft and that she is a 'poisoner' now.
-
In the dark of early morning a new face arrives at the Broken Bell Inn. The girl appears to be somewhat young and naive. Slung over her shoulder is a leather bag; something she appears to be extremely protective of. She speaks quietly with Samvel, the name "Doctor Larcen" on her lips.
-
The sounds of music and mirth spill forth from the Broken Bell as patrons leave after the day-long festival, discussing the play and the delicious fresh foods offered by the Broken Bell staff.
-
Rumors surface of a possible miscarriage striking the long time Bell patron Ruxandra Stanga. She was last seen disappearing into her inn room with the highly respected Doctor Larcen. Soon after the well known barmaid Eliza was summoned up to the room. Screams and shouts were heard coming from the room. Hours later, bloody blankets as well as a throw rub were removed from the room. Domna Stanga has not been seen since entering the room, although her hired midwife, Marilena, is seen catering to her needs in the form of home cooked meals, tea, fresh bed linens, and also reading material.
-
Rumors go around the Bell that a dwarf, a pitic was served at the Broken Bell. Most of the rumors state she was not kicked out due to being a member of the Red Vardo traders. Others put it that she is a strong fighter and it would be bad to mess with her. In any way. the fact that a dwarf was served and ate at the Bell, is upon the lips of the patrons.
-
One of the outlander cultists has taken up residence at the Broken Bell Inn. With his large size and blonde hair, he sticks out like a sore thumb. During the hours of darkness, he keeps a close eye on things, and even occasionally wanders out to patrol the outside of the inn.
He watches Denisa closely, much to her annoyance.
-
Word quickly spreads of a fight in the Broken Bell. It is said that Corporal Belovich was present to break up a brawl between the mad ex-Corporal Kruschev and Private Bobboc.
Blood stains the floor boards as the mess is cleared up by Samvel Petrovsvksy...
-
A new face has arrived to the Broken Bell, his tall and has tired eye's. The man proclaim to come from Krezk as Samvel speaks to him as he orders something to drink and eat together with a room.
He disappears to his room shortly after arriving. The man speaks fluid Balok and the accent fits, seemingly it's not yet another iadul outlander that is a new face for the people in Vallaki.
-
Late in the day two garda burst in the Broken bell carrying a third garda badly wounded. The poor man's leg was taken off from the knee down. Luckily Doctor Damien Barrovich, and his assistant nurse Veruca Ozera, two new faces around the Bell, were on hand to assist the wounded garda. While things looked very grim, in the end the garda's life was saved. Rumor has it Corporal Belovich is seeking to hire Doctor Damien Barrovich, and his assistant to tend to all the Garda's health needs.
-
After saving not only the guards leg but his life the doctor and nurse duo retired to their rooms. Veruca could be seen coming and going from Petru's room all through the night bringing food and changing his bandages.
-
The poor guard recruit of all people, Petru Boroi, was seen escorted to his home in the Slums. Word of a promising career cut short by the wickedness of the lurkers from below. The man's amputated leg wrapped in bandages from knee to thigh, his face grim as an alarmed wife met him at the Broken Bell inn.
-
Nurse Veruca Ozera is seen sitting in the same chair night after night, writing swiftly in her ledger, sipping her tsuika or sewing. She casts glance to the door occasionally. Some say she is waiting for Corporal Belovich, others say she is just waiting for a massacre to happen, so she does not become rusty.
-
Nurse Veruca Ozera was seen screaming "Witch!" at the top of her lungs while trying to usher an unseen woman out the door of the Broken Bell Inn. She then grabbed her key from Samvel and retreated to her room. She hasnt come back down since.
Have the attacks on the Broken Bell Inn started once again?
-
Dr. Larcen Is seen eye his compition coldly from his table to the side with a glass of wine in one hand and a black leather ledger in the other. What is to come from this ?
What can one do but guess.
-
After a few choice rude words from Doctor Larcen, a man who treats Outlanders and seeks aid from cultists, Veruca Ozera and Elton Belovich were seen storming downstairs with her things. They apologized to Samvel and said as long as that man was staying in his Inn that she would be residing in the Blue Water from now on.
-
A Guard, Dacusta has been traveling to the Inn recently, mostly during the day.
-
After a local known as Anghelu was dragged out of the Broken Bell Inn and beaten by two native Barovian's the woman known as Svetlana is seen leaving the establishment with her belongings in tote. She is heard ranting about the lack of respect and honor that the Vallaki guard have for themselves and their people. Her attitude in going is much different than that she had when arriving.

Actors ! Poets ! Singers ! Musicians ! Lecturers and Story Tellers Wanted !
The Broken Belll Theatre is looking for acts for group and solo performances. All interested parties are encouraged to contact Domna Murphy at the Broken Bell.
-
A young local lady has been seen often eating at one of the tables of the Bell. She has been seen with Lance Corporal Manduleanu a couple of times. Occasionally she's been seen weeping. If asked, the Barovian patrons are likely to avoid the subject, though Samvell has been heard stating she has lost her whole family, recently: he'd likely add also she's the only one left of Badovic family, apart an aunt living in Krofburg. But her quiet mourning is kept well hidden most of the time, not to ruin the business of the inn and the local theatre.
-
A woman's scream could be hear from the second floor one word was heard Ajutor! then silence
-
[A patrol of Vallaki Garda, after having been called by the Broken Bell staff, has decided to go there and watch the place until different orders. They are waiting for a higher rank to write down a report]
-
Rumors go around with the locals that the broken bell has hired a new waitress and is beginning to settle into her job
-
Rumours spread about a hooded person, maybe a fey, having attended the Broken Bell recently. Patrons are scandalized of the fact Igor has not taken action: some even murmur he's becoming too old and too soft. Or maybe Igor has not found out yet. Bad or good advertisement for the place is still advertisement, but it depends what Barovian patrons of the Broken Bell will think of this. Especially the Vallaki Garda.
-
When Old Night comes and Barovians head indoors, those who spend their nights at the Broken Bell Inn would hear the sounds of music. For a young a barovian domna has recently been seen spending her time there often playing either the lute or the violin.
-
Rumor spreads that the Broken Bell inn has hired a new waitress who is friendly yet awkward. Though the most interesting thing about her are the striking green eyes and slightly pointed ears. Has the Broken Bell really hired a half fey?
-
Igor is heard in the back screaming at his employees, about what, that is unknown but the half-fey Aurelia is seen moments later handing over her uniform and key to a rather sullen and apologetic Samvel. All of this inexcusable behavior happening in front of a very special guest from the village.
-
During the witching hours of the night, it seems that someone carved the words "Dawn will come" in luktar into the wall upstairs in the broken bell in. However what this means, and who carved it remain to be seen.
-
Just as the patrons of the inn settled in for the night of drinking and food at the Broken Bell tavern The waitress Izabela was serving a large order to an outlander as she left A woman with a bow ready and wearing dark green hood and cloak and grayish leathers is seen dragging the waitress into the old night. The patrons look on in horror and are unable to react to save the waitress
-
The waitress returned to work a few days after her kidnapping speaking little of what happen other than talking ill of Gundarkite rebels. Then one night while the waitress Izabela was cleaning up for the night she is grab from something unseen by the eyes and is dragged kicking and screaming upstairs. A few moments later some say they hear sobs and the door to the inn swings open into the night on its own and then shortly closes once more. Non have heard or seen the waitress since.
-
a horrible indecent occurred late at night at the Bell; A rebel girl burst into the Bell and shouted some words, the exact words seem to get changed from rumor to rumor, and than threw a bomb before running off. Though there was some destruction to property, it is thankful that no one was killed and that the Gundarakite Terrorist failed in the attack.
-
Rumors spread rapidly about the Broken Bell that the Waitress Izabela has returned. Not say much but that she was laying low after a mad fey kidnapped her. She cheerfully serves drinks as if the days of old are behind her.
-
As the one year anniversary of the Bombing of the Bell approaches, the surviving family members have taking to leaving small tokens of remembrance outside the tavern. Bouquets of roses, small lead medallions, carved wooden icons and half empty bottles of tsuika. It has been remarked that even though the tavern has been rebuilt a strange scent of smoke and Something else is often detected by the patrons.
-
Patrons and staff remark at the peculiar scent of smoke and burnt meat that lingers in the drinking hall after hours. Some of the locals even rumor of hearing the faint screams and moans of the dying from the Fireflies victims on that awful summer night.
-
A crispy rumor about guardsman, the Lance Corporal Nicolai Zaitus takes root within the establishment. The word has it the Lance Corporal, regular patron of the inn, would be leading intimate relationships with a woman within the Ladies Bathroom of the tavern. While the identity of the woman remains unknown, many regular curious wonder who might have stolen the prized guardsman heart and passions.
More viperous rumors shared between women with caution warn about Zaitus' deviant behavior, spreading he likes to pry on women when they enter the bathroom.

When the new bar maid at the Bell, Ismene, hears of these rumors, she clucks her tongue and says she does not believe it of the guardsman, especially the last bit. As for the other, she simply replies "the circumstances must be misunderstood." Still, her ears and eyes are open regarding the matter.
-
There appears to be a new resident at the Broken Bell. Rather odd fellow who speaks in broken common, and calls himself a "Doctor". He's seen commonly at nights drinking at the bar by himself, writting in a small leather journal. Speaking an odd dialect he calls "English".
-
A bombing in the style of the Firefly occured one crisp Winter Night. A darkly clothed figure stormed into the establishment and threw a bomb at two off duty garda.
The figure yelled "For Gundarak! Fellazad!" before fleeing the scene.
-
The young and recently widowed Barovian woman known as Esmé Lanovich is said to have recently taken up residence at the Broken Bell. Despite the talk of the wealth she's inherited from her late husband, she appears to bring only a simple bag of clothing with her to the inn. She spends most early evening's before the fire, quietly eating and doing her best to talk to as few people as possible.
-
Rumors through the city are that the notable Doctor Veruca Ozera has once again returned to Vallaki and will be continuing her practice in her regular room at the Broken Bell Inn.
-
Rumours soon spread about the city that Izabela is seen serving drinks once more that the Broken bell Inn.
-
Rumors quickly spread about the wedding of Elton and Livia Belovich, and about the strangeness of it all. The wedding itself, like most Barovian weddings, was devoid of pretense and fairly ordinary; however, what happened before and after the wedding got underway caught the attention of most and easily provided the water needed to power the rumor mill. The reception, so it is said, consisted of a man in a bear suit brutalizing and strangling the life out of a Gundarakite rebel. Even more interesting is what happened before the wedding: Dragos Dumitrascu, the father of the former Lieutenant Eugen Dumitrascu, launched into a vitriolic rant against Elton Belovich, calling him and the rest of the garda "corrupt and rotten" and continuously demanding the whereabouts of his son. The consoling words of the Lieutenant did nothing to sway the old man's stubborn heart, and his anger grows more and more potent with each passing day..

Tragedy struck the broken bell today with three people dead and one in critical condition after a nocturnal attack by a neuri.
-
The Broken Bell waitress and Theatre manager, Eliza Chirila, has been confined to her bed after some kind of attack last eve.
Apparently the young woman was found in a room not her own asleep in a chair next to a broken window and spattered blood, when woken she was semi-delerious and was returned to her own room.
People also speak of the visit by Mihas of the village guarda, her adoptive brother, and his storming off and Eliza returning downstairs red-eyed from crying to finish her shift earlier in the evening.
-
Some small noise has been made that the Bell, in order to raise more funds, may be holding a summer dance.
-
A local craftsman, the patrons know as Costa Vadim spending many evenings in the Broken bell with a young barovian girl. They often bend over a little black account book, talking about trade. They have been asking patrons if they know about men willing to work for Costa in the mines, or assist him in the smithy. Honest pay for honest work, he often says.
Also Costa have been asking the patrons how they feel about the Red Vardo.
((OOC: Some reply to this last would be welcome, I really wish to know how the locals feel about the Vardo))
-
When Ismene is asked one night as she stays at the Bell, her lips press together in thought; she obviously has something to say, but is measuring her words.
"The Vardo? Not trustworthy. I have met some who are kind enough, or seem so on their surface, but who are they really? Foreigners, domn, with their own agendas and plenty of fang to throw about and worm into local politics."
A cloud comes over her expression as if she is remembering something more specific, but she doesn't seem to come out with the information.
-
Word that the sinister Black Coat ''Witch Hunter'' Viktor Noirgrim along with his henchman, have established themselves in the Broken Bell much to the displeasure of the patrons.
-
A quiet, mustachioed Barovian man has become a regular patron of the Inn during the long, dreadful nights. He does not seem to respond well to patrons who prod him for small talk and often retreats upstairs when there are too many "happy" patrons about.
-
Garda Natasha Orlov, once Corporal now Private, has been seen spending her evenings at the Broken Bell. She comes in just before the last rays of the sun dip below the horizon and spends the nights by the fire, watching the main door. She comes out of uniform, but nurses a wine all night as if on duty. Why is she here? those who know of her say she is there to remember her mother and father, killed some years back in the Firefly bombing. Others feel that she is wathcing over the inn, with the new advertising and potential renewed intertest, the Rebels may see it as a target. Others still think that she is just stiff and cold and this is how the all business Orlov has fun, sipping a wine all night and staring at the doorway, these are usually the domns that have attempted to convince the private up to their room for the night without success.
-
A gundarakite woman has often been spotted in the broken bell as of late. She often seems to be playing music there...
-
~Some rumors have spread about a woman who was staying at the broken bell leaving with a stranger one evening, she never returned for her things and many have just assumed she has become one of the numerous casualties of the plague or perhaps she has run off with this 'stranger' for greener pastures, the hysteria of vallaki rising to a near fever pitch of late. To many this seem's a small detail amid the dismal backdrop of the plague~
-
Rumor circulates that the broken bell inn has hired on a new bartender, he seems welcoming and spends most of his nights working the bar at the fine establishment.
-
Rumors began to spread that waitress Izabela Sarnovich has returned to the Broken Bell
-
A new face has been seen spending her evening's at the Broken Bell. A young Barovian who goes by the name "Ros" can be found at the Bell most evening's. She seems friendly enough, though mostly keeps to herself.
-
Late nights a follower of the Morninglord can be seen reading a book, occasionally looking at the door as it opens then returning to his reading.

*Rumors spread throughout the Market District, and specially amongst those who frequent the Broken Bell.*
"Late at night, an outlander ran inside the Broken Bell, chased by three monstrous rat neuri. One female barovian patron is confirmed dead, and many others are reported as wounded. Gossip indicates that former Garda, Grigore Mondragon, stood firm, equipped with nothing but a long blade, single handedly parrying the incoming blows of the three towering creatures. As the seasoned man stood, an unknown female and the same outlander responsible for the struggle helped putting the creatures to death. Word says that old Mondragon was severely wounded and got very close to losing the fight."
-
During the day, a muffled racket of shouts, bestial roaring, singing and laughter could be heard coming from the Broken Bell Theatre.
A modest crowd were seen departing the venue in the early evening, chuckling and bantering. Those who lingered in the tavern hall gave a toast to the troupe that had performed, though most of the actors had already hurried off for an early night to bed.
-
[Survivors of the attack relayed their fearful night once dawn came and they safely escaped. During the night, a small caliban ran into the Broken Bell shrieking, a were-rat chasing it. The caliban escaped, leaving the rat behind to attack tavern patrons.]
-
A woman in garda uniform entered the establishment during the small hours, looking for the manager of the Broken Bell Theatre. The two of them went downstairs to speak, but the garda emerged not long after, demanding to know where the man had gone. He appeared behind her, an axe at the ready. The garda grabbed the red-haired waitress on duty to use as a human shield, but the blond man kicked her aside and lunged at the garda. Another man with red hair assisted him in restraining the armored woman, but once she was mortally wounded, she simply... vanished.
Patrons and staff alike were terrified by the incident, even as nobody was harmed...
-
A beautiful outlander human in strange clothes and an air of refinement has been providing pleasant ambient music and an occasional song in an exotic-sounding language at the Blue Water Inn. She knows few words in common and answers to the name of 'Echo'.
As the time progresses she begins to include some of the known local tunes into her repertoire and can play a great variety of instruments and melodies, that range from 'soulful' to 'dance'. She performs at least once a day at the Broken Bell, but can be occasionally seen playing something at Lady's Rest, the Lightbringer Temple or near the Vistani Camp. When not practicing her music, she spends time picking more of the common language from anyone who would teach her.
Her general manner is polite and non-intrusive and if it wasn't for her different clothing, instruments, language or musical tradition, she would not attract much attention. Yet for anyone after the taste of the exotic culture and musical arts her performance would be quite a find.

Tensions run high the last night, with a Barovian woman and her several accomplices inciting a fiery argument with guests of the inn. A guardswoman, main subject of the mob's taunts, manages to calm the situation. She converses with the leading woman quietly, who in turn calms her group.
The pair leave together and, a short time later, the guardswoman returns alone, wounded near fatally.
-
Returning to the Broken Bell after what he calls "a long morning," Samvel Petrovsky offers free drinks for the rest of the day, touting the generosity of Vallaki's guards and benevolent government.
-
Despite some rumours of the basement of the Broken Bell being turned into a slaughterhouse, a show was actually performed. Some Outlanders type of show, but songs were sung and storytelling was performed, anyone could enjoy those. The players insulting each others was a novelty, but no big words were spoken, the insults were all witty. The audience enjoyed and elected as the best perfomer a hin, some Sagrin they say. It seems the theatre of the Broken Bell is in business again.
-
Some patrons have claimed they've heard snippets of song from the upper floors of the Broken Bell, but thus far, the mystery minstrel has yet to appear.
-
Two women were seen going upstairs the Broken Bell together, a woman Ezrite Templar and a beautiful dark haired Dementlieuse woman in Bellegarde colors. The Dementlieuse woman seemed to make an effort to draw the attention of the owner as she passed the bar to make their presence known. Shortly after a scream was heard and the Garda called in to investigate. The Dementlieuse woman has not been seen since.

The seeds of a rumor are sewn, germinating and writhing their way throughout the Grey City. A mysterious female figure, clad in the traditional ebon-garb commensurate with mourning, has become a fixture at the Broken Bell Tavern each evening. The regular bar-flies, occupants, and staff mutter conspiratorially in furtive tones about her abrupt presence and consistent return. Still, evening after evening, as soon as the sun is extinguished in the horizon, she arrives and progresses through her nightly pattern: the cowl of her cloak is pulled back accompanying the closure of the entry door, a generous splashing and clattering of fang is distributed to Samvel, and she silently resides in the corner of the tavern. Apparently content to simply observe the various patrons and staff throughout the evening from her reclusive perch, she imbibes voraciously from a mug that the wenches ensure never runs dry.
Prior to daybreak, the feminine figure departs wordlessly and abruptly, her generosity on full display as a hefty and charitable gratuity is the only remaining evidence, besides an empty mug, of her once occupancy at the establishment. The enigmatic woman remains as such, after all, only the intrepid seek to delve into the unknown and mysterious and even inebriated Barovians are content to provide a wide berth to the suspicious.
-
Smoke billowed into the evening air, rising up into the midnight firmament from the chimney stack of the Broken Bell Inn. An inviting sight that conjured up imagery of warmth and comfort from the chilling Barovian air. The stoked hearth and roaring fire filled the tavern with patrons, Samvel worked into a glistening sheen of sweat to keep up with the various orders and inquiries.
The enigmatic feminine figure, perched upon her reclusive stool, elevated her voice above a whisper for the first night since her mysterious emergence, so claims the gossiping of bar patrons. Her typically morose demeanor granted a reprieve during a brief conversation that ended abruptly with her hastily departure with the crowing of roosters in the nearby farmsteads before dawn fell upon the landscape.
Revelry and imbibing continued throughout the day, several patrons drinking beyond their fill and stumbling up the stairs towards the sleeping quarters upstairs.
-
After a month long absence, the Vos proprietor of Merry Bear Merchandise has returned to Vallaki. He can be found at the inn most nights, quietly nursing his infant daughter at a corner table. From time to time, a bald and ageing Richemuloise man joins him. From what can be overheard, their discussions are either related to theological matters, or health and medicine. Perhaps he is a mentor figure for the young father, as the Vos seems to hang on every word uttered.
-
A wily foreigner has been seen about the Broken Bell with more frequency of late. Rather than haunting the bar, he totes a broom and a bucket, diligently chasing away soot, dust, dirt and cobwebs, and thereafter wiping every surface down until pristine. He works from dusk until midnight, and retires with sodden, filth caked clothes.
-
A pack of Dwarves kept Samvel busy and running low on ale.
-
[The tavern was positively packed after the Radkov Day celebrations. With Barovians, and Outlanders alike eating, drinking, and keeping the waitstaff busy.]
-
A noble foreigner has been noticed in the inn, apparently taking care of the theatre for the time being. Her name seems to be Luciana Armont.
-
As sunrise a statuesque, well-proportioned woman enters the Bell and walks throughout, inspecting the premises and giving the air of someone who owns the establishment.
Later, she sits at one of the tables and appears to conduct some sort of interview, with a second, hooded woman. The latter makes copious notes in a notebook, almost as though taking dictation.
Anyone overhearing the conversation would report that much of it seems to concern fashion...although the tall woman frequently uses the word "whore" and at one point describes something "frightening," "monstrous," and "demonic."
-
After Captain Cornell concludes her talk, three women leave the basement theatre and pass the armed men guarding the Baroness Armont's quarters to meet with her behind a closed door for some time. Upon their departure they encounter a mysterious local staying in the room across from her. All exchange some pleasantries in the hallway, although the Barovian appears miffed at the presence of the guards.
-
A horde of powerful wererats rampages through the Broken Bell during the night, killing several patrons. The Baroness's statuesque assistant is attacked as well, but thankfully the theatre itself is left unscathed. Dame Chantalyn manages--during a provident distraction--to revive most of those stricken in the course of the melee...save for two bodies that seem to have gone mysteriously missing.
Later, the troupe celebrates the signing of contracts and first wardrobe fittings with relaxation at the bar. Some cast are seen to be studying their scripts dutifully.
-
Attendees to Captain Cornell's morning lecture note the presence of an armed Borcan guard, placed subtly in the shadows of the box office. At times, the theatre's manager is observed moving about atypically in highly polished, plate armor of unique craftsmanship, befitting a paladin more than a businesswoman.
After the lecture, a courier departs the inn moving with great speed to the east, while the Baroness Armont holds court with several visitors.
When the sun sets, Dame Chantalyn discards her armor for theatrical garb, the courier returns, and for several hours the sounds of ribaldly and laughter echo from the theatre below, the troup rehearsing and seemingly unmindful to the many threats they continue to receive...and the many suspect personages who come and go, few looking like patrons of the arts.
-
Following close on the heels of the wererat rampage, the Broken Bell appears to have suffered another violent incursion, as the theatre's manager is seen carrying a horribly bloodied body to the temple in the slums.
The stricken figure is one of her performers, who, even after healing by the Morning Lords, must rely on Dame Chantalyn for conveyance back to the inn, due to the severity of his injuries.
Will "Shades of Falkovnia" be performed as scheduled?
Dame Chantalyn remains defiant, muttering something about "attempted assassinations," and insists that the show will go on, "come hell or high water."
-
Rumours spread quite fast about the notorious and recurrent bad luck happening in the Broken Bell Theatre. Apparently a member of the troupe has been assaulted by a golden-clad elven witch. The darker imaginations of the locals run fast, also being supported by several similar cases happened in the past. Some blame not even hushedly the Borcan lady and her deputy who manage the theatre, others simply shrug considering that place cursed. The truth sometimes is in the middle, other times it is wholly elsewhere. Vallaki Garda has been seen investigating on the matter, inflaming the curiosity of the locals. Only the bravest among them hope to know yet another scary story to tell in front of the fireplace within their heavily barred homes.
-
After a long absence, the manager of the Broken Bell appears once more at the bar. She spends the evening in deep conversation with the Toret of Ezra, and listeners might overhear phrases of both a theological and dramatic nature.
At daybreak the two walk to the Cathedral in the Nobles District, accompanied by Chantalyn's protege. Later, the two attractive young women return to the Bell laden with books. They retire downstairs, apparently to study their recent acquisitions, but at least once a muffled whimper sounds from below.
-
Looking bruised and battered, the Lance Corporal of the Vallaki Garda paid a lengthy visit to the Broken Bell to discuss a bit of business with the theatre's voluptuous manager. Also seated at the table was a female Elf recognizable as having cheered on the Garda during a recent public beating, taking particular delight when the prisoner's hand was crushed. During their meeting, two Ezrites entered the Bell, one with his weapon drawn, but which was stowed immediately. Nevertheless, one Ezrite sat and observed the three women throughout the night.
At some point the Lance Corporal spoke suddenly in the voice of a man, which certainly attracted the attention of nearby patrons. Also, the name "Radkov" peppered their talk.
-
After a long period of quiet, the Broken Bell seems to have erupted into chaos. The manager of the theatre reported to the garda she was struck down and robbed by her former (wanted) employee, Anaralia Xilloufin. Despite her ghastly injuries that appear to have left the beautiful and statuesque Chantalyn hobbled, she was heard to insist "The show must go on!"
Subsequently, a drunken patron assaulted a garda, continuing to fight even after manacled and had to be carried unconscious from the establishment.
While planning for the upcoming Radkov Day was undeterred, yet a third disturbance disrupted the Bell. A woman rushed in pursued by an enormous wererat, which began to strike out at all occupants. Thankfully, Corporal Mitrea was present to kill the beast. The woman was revealed to be former employee Elvawen Englen. She, too, was arrested, and when her pleading to Vanatar to intervene fell on deaf ears, she took her own life via poison.
-
A familiar blonde, statuesque beauty returns to the Bell, looking a bit out of sorts. Her mood changes upon her second appearance, however, as she entertains a male guest, who seems to hearken from Invidia. The two share wine and speak for several hours by the fireplace, with little lull in their conversation as though distinctly animated by their subject matter. When they part, their hangs a promise of future plans in their mutual manner.
-
A lieutenant from the Red Vardo arrives one morning at the Bell, apparently to meet with the manager of the theatre. The two women disappear below and then reappear several hours later. Both display convivial miens after their conference.
-
As the day of the Red Vardo auction approaches, activity picks up the Broken Bell. The manager disappears downstairs for hours, alone or with unseen company. Then a hooded stranger stops by briefly for what seems to be a very private conversation with Chantalyn and her secretive associate. Finally, more recognizable events occur as two performers cycle in for auditions: one, a talented Gnome who evidences virtuoso playing and singing, another, a more quiet harpist. After their departure, the statuesque beauty seems in quite the good humor, as she prepares contracts for signing.
-
[What began as a day of levity inside the Broken Bell's walls ended in terror, with the performance put on by the ApRosach sisters ending in blood and death as both sisters took on the form of a hideous and massive crimson spider. Many were wounded, more than a few perished. While one was slain, another escaped, and who can say where it has gone...]

A youthful brunette, known to many as the Barovian Nightingale, could be seen having a lengthy, quiet conversation with a diminutive woman garbed in black. Near the conclusion of their discussion, a key exchanged hands before the latter took her leave of the place. Some time later, key in hand, the Nightingale entered into the theater section of the building.
-
A new face has been seen frequenting the Broken Bell in the last week; a Barovian woman seeming to have been recently hired as a barmaid by the gruff and seclusive owner, Igor.
