The putrid, malodorous stench fading along with the draining of the septic tunnels beneath the Grey City. /Someone/ or /something/ has restored order and even the downtrodden masses feel a momentary reprieve of solace.]

After the water levels have receded a lone drow slaughters the vermin and skin changers of the abandoned shrine. She searches for evidence of something. She walks away frustrated but not defeated.

[Strange symbols have started to appear in the sewers beneath the Grey City. These simple geometric shapes are etched, or scrawled in blood, in alcoves throughout Vallaki's dank underbelly. What do these symbols mean? Who put them there? And do they have anything to do with the recent spate of attacks?]

Rumours of a shoeless, green-clothed Gundarakite living in the sewers begin to circulate, digging through garbage and talking to rodents.

"Funny rumor" goes among sewer denizen of a fully armored lady, who got swarmed over by rats over and over and laid in place for hours before someone came by and drove the vermin off.
Another rumor goes that their perfume, whatever they were using, was so awful that even the vermin didn't want a bite.

Rumors circulate of strange, guttural sounds drifting up from one or more of the sewer grates in the Residential District, produced during the dead of night. To someone properly versed, the description of these sounds almost matches that of verbal Abyssal phrases...
Perhaps if someone had the inkling, they might find something in the tunnels beneath...

Lately, the rats have scurried more brazenly. They squeak as if chatting amongst themselves like tides moving among the miasma of sewage. Within the depths a rage-filled roar thunders throughout the tunnels. A call that summons many scratching of claws upon tile and whiskers tremoring with purpose.
Something has awakened in Vallaki's sewers and it is vengeful...

The sewers are bustling with rats running too and fro. They move with purpose and part like a sea by some unseen creature lurking within. Chanting could be heard followed by a gleeful roar. All goes silent for a minute until the sound of victory can be heard sung by some ravenous beast. A creature pleased with a feast...

Twisted shrieks echo throughout the sewers, as a runty, twisted creature scampers about the waste, repeatedly screaming a single word.
"Joy...! Joy..! JOY!!! Joy... Joy..."
Eventually they fade as whoever or whatever is making the noise quiets down and moves deeper into the sewers.

In the middle of the Old Noapte, the silence of the tunnels is broken by sounds of gunfire and the yelling of two women, one of them provoking and the other answering with anger and curses. The language may be recognized as Luktar.
Gunshots can probably be heard even in the streets of the Slums above, erupting from the sewer grates.

The Tournament of Might hosted by the Kiy'zuel dark elves (https://www.nwnravenloft.com/forum/index.php?topic=65913.0) brought dozens of spectators to the sewers under the Grey City. Hours of clashing metal and forbidden magickal utterances left large pools of blood on the rusted metal grating. The names of the winners spread: Rarang, a vicious elven warrior; Valara, an acidic mage; and Bes'lyth, a dragon-blooded berserker said to have bested a cunning mage who himself had shifted into a large drake in the last bout. Even after the tournament ended, it is said that several warriors stayed to fight amongst themselves for sport.

Those traveling in the abandoned tunnels beneath the grey city would encounter an odd sight. The corpse of a dire rat has been mounted to the masonry of the grimeway with two dark blades, short swords that scouts would recognize as variants of the shadow strike.
The abdomen of the rodent has been incised, and the creature is left partially disemboweled with viscera draping out of the wound.
Those approaching with gruesome curiosity would notice that a Blaustein gem has been tucked into the incision.
