Synopsis:
A hint of corruption flickers back into existence once more within the old Barovian crypts; tendrils of inky malevolence seeking to curl around the light, to snuff or to steal. Odd glyphs appear painted on the walls in old places, and whispers of religious chanting escape in the wind. A foreign service of undeath hunts their own kind to the end, forcing desperate measures made for existence, risking the eyes of the castle. Elegies of Angels draws upon plots carried out some years back, such as Undying and Malevolent Shadows, moving story and key NPCs forward.
*: Though paladins and good aligned PCs are not mainly involved, there will likely be later situations that call upon champions of good.

Preview
Tales tell of a Hazlani House that was home to experiments and rituals so profane, that the House itself became tainted with darkness. The House is now said to be alive, though it is unknown if this came to be through dark magic – or if the House has become an amalgamation of the souls who perished and are now trapped there. The House appears at random – seemingly out of time and always out of place. . . seeking to lure in those brave enough to uncover its mysteries.

Schedule of Events
For those involved in the defense of Ameranthe, this battle will play out over three days. You do not need to be present for all of it.
Friday -> will involve the journey to Ameranthe, the setup of the scene, and military roleplay.
Saturday -> will involve the resolution of a number of long-time plot threads, leading to "the night before" and its attendant RP.
Sunday -> will feature the final battle for the castle.
Obviously, this may change based on player actions. If it does, I will say so. In general, do not feel obliged to be present all the time. I will be present and making things happen throughout, except when I sleep.

This character is designed to serve as an alternative prelude and origin story for your character (should you survive); in short, your character is a Falkovnian slave. They could either be brought by the Mists to Falkovnia instead of Barovia and simply be an especially unlucky outlander, or they could be a native taken as a prisoner of war. They could be a criminal condemned to this life as punishment or simply a non-human. Regardless, they have grown acquainted to a life of misery and suffering delivered at the hands of Vlad Drakov and his minions... until a chance at escape presents itself.
If interested, PM me with your character's name and a short blurb about their backstory and how they ended up in this situation. Ten slots will be made open for this; first come, first serve.

Flyers begin to mysteriously appear across Vallaki, even reaching so far as the Tser Pool and the Keep of the Dyad.
Where they come from, no one can tell. For each one taken down or removed, another two take its place. No one sees who or what is placing the mysterious flyers.
Each flyer is beautifully decorated with elaborate colors. Stare too long, however, and the words and shapes on the flyer become hypnotic and entrancing. The images themselves seem to waver and shift, and the words flicker and change from one moment to the next. Moreso, what appears on the paper seems tailored different to every individual. To some, the expectation of great thrills and excitement. To others, the irresistible draw of curiousity. To yet others, a dark and foreboding promise.
There are however, some distinct words that can be made out by every one who reads the flyer. Words prominently in bold that imprint themselves into the vision of all those who read the magical flyers.
